Was in Spokane last week and threw a code for doser injector replacement. Replaced the injector and did a forced regen. Lasted about 40 minutes. Headed for Okee City with 90,000lbs. Truck seems to be running progressively worse and weaker and getting progressively worse fuel mileage. Down from 6.2avg to probably 5.2 over the last month. Unloaded friday and deadheaded 50 miles at 65mph and computer showed 6.5. Seems like it won't run or get fuel mileage at anything above 1300 - 1325rpm. I recently replaced all the sensors except atmospheric pressure and manifold pressure which I cleaned. Speaking of pressure the boost is up and down between 35 and 43 for no apparent reason. My CAC is brand new. Replaced fuel filters yesterday and have some algae in there... crap. The mechanic who replaced doser said that my pipes were very sooty after the forced regen and could be from a cracked DPF filter. Would a cracked filter cause the thing to eventually plug up, because that's what it runs like - it's got a big plug in the exhaust, or something. I CANNOT WAIT to get Rawze's tune done...

Nice! At 254,000 miles my plungers took out all my injectors. Warranty refused to cover it even though my extended warranty covers major components including injectors, turbo and water pump to 450,000miles/48mo.

Then, 4 months later, at 296,000 miles, the #4 bearing turned and contingent damaged destroyed the engine. Once again, Cummins has so far refused coverage. In a week creditors are going to sell my truck as is. I'm on the hook for the balance and my credit destroyed. I should have stayed away from the C-word. Their issues are not varied across the board but the same flaws repeated over and over agsin and never a recall. Never own up to it. I remeber the two CAT's I owned. Rockers snapped once and though not a recall, they replaced all of them that Monday morning. Even paid the tow.

That's rough dude... Sorry to hear this. Makes me grateful that my POS's only real problems are no power and horrible fuel mileage, after replacing the cams, sensors, injectors,etc...

I know this is an old post and IDK if you are still around; but regarding >>d) Anything above about 2.5-3.0 hpa on the DPF, and it is going to lower fuel mileage for the engine and is not good. If after a forced regen, the hpa is still above this range, it is cheaper to clean the DPF/DOC out than to send the truck down the road with its lowered fuel mileage.<< I'm using INSITE and haven't seen anything measured in Hectopascal; I have inHg readings in the Maximum Diesel Particulate Filter Differential Pressure. Can someone please clarify? New to the ISX and New to Insite.

I was thinking about it as well just the other day. I think what RAWZE meant was kPa. To Change the values from inHg to kPa you have to go to TOOLS -> OPTIONS -> UNITS OF MEASURE and change them to Metric.

    Frankb4u Thanks this.

Thanks for response DURAMAXXED ! Looks you are familiar with INSITE. I am trying to update calibration on my aftertreatment doser unit.Instruction in Quick Serve Online saying following:" For Doser Calibration downloads, enter the Doser calibration code. The Doser calibration code may also be referred to as device code."I asked local cummins dealer last week, how to find that code-NO answer.I visually checked the unit and no any numbers on it working for downloading CAL file. Do you know where or how can find that numbers? Thanks again!
