I can't compare because I never worked for Abf. I mean freight is freight and some companies do it better. I read somewhere that a driver for abf had to set up gym equipment at a residential because it's in their union contract. It was on indeed Abf job reviews. Good luck

What do you think the chance for overtime at FedEx is for this kind of job?

Well for me I made sure I got my hours, atleast 10hrs a day. You can either slow walk your deliveries or come back early and work the dock. Another way I would get my hours is when I came back I would fill out all my paper work for my deliveries and pick ups at the terminal. Sometimes you can only get 8hrs a day but those techniques worked for me. Lol

Hahaha yeah I use these techniques right now too. My favorite one is stopping at my old terminal and bs'ing with my dispatcher for 1.5 hours and then logging that I was discussing tomorrow's loads and my work schedule, fueling and whatever else I can throw in there :)

Lol.. my favorite one was when I was at my last pick up I would let everybody else in front of me to get theirs first. Then I would get mine and sit in the parking lot for about 1hr sleeping.

^^Yeah, I use this one a lot too. At my company we have some subhaulers and these guys don't get paid by the hour. One of our customers are notorious for having 1 line down in the middle of the night, so we get stuck there like 7 hours waiting on the load getting paid by the hour. When the subhaulers come in, these guys don't want to wait so I always let them go in front of me. It scores points with the subhaulers, and the guy who prints the BOLs doesnt mind because we see each other every day

Well anyways what's up with this interview ? What should I expect and how does it flow ? Do they let you know right away if they are interested or do they leave you hanging ?

When I met them for my interview they still had to wait for all my background information to come back. All my information! No gaps or anything. Everything had to be clear. After everything came back I went in and met with the terminal manager again and explained to me the pay scale and everything else. I signed all my new hire paper work and started the very next day.

So between first interview and start date, what kind of time frame are we looking at ? Basically if they like me, then I guess they run all my information and if no discrepancies are found, they make an offer at the 2nd interview?
