Joke's really on you drivers who can never seem to find a rate then assume that no-one else can either. It ought to give you pause to consider that maybe you've got something to learn.

I know I have much to learn. I'm currently fortunate enough that I have a great dispatcher who pulls rabbits out of her hat all the time.

Wtf you talking about, I've been working the Houston market for a couple years and its hell. DOT coming put of your ### everywhere, long lines at the ports, having to pay extra to get a TWIC and don't even get me started about pipe yards. Did I mention traffic?

    Houston sucks

Just might be that you're in an area or market you don't understand or are familiar with. Here's an example. HOU to Midland a broker will try to offer you $1200-1500 for approximately 500 miles , you might think it's great at $3 a mile while a lot of the guys out of here won't for for less than $2000-2500 so that $3 per mile isn't that good, actually it sucks , but since you don't Beleive me , you will never ask for it or get it .

I really hope you land yourself a good rate soon , it will become addictive and you will realize what you have been missing all this time

Every day you sit waiting for that perfect load cost you several hundred dollars in fixed expenses. SOOO tomorrow your load will have to pay that several hundred dollars more than the load today would have paid just to make the SAME PROFIT!!!

This should be considered as well.

TQL can be a real pain in the butt to deal with. I use them when I can't find anything else; not because of the rates but because they usually don't tell you everything you need to know up front. Surprise! It's a 3 drop load! I usually do two weeks long haul and two one-week periods of somewhat local runs. Last week was local and I used TQL for two loads, one for about $2.50 a mile and the hold-over I have on for the weekend that I deliver Monday after days off is for $3.10 a mile. Not too bad compared to a lot of rates. Of course, I had to haggle to get them up on the numbers a bit, but if you take TQL's first offer you're crazy! Just my two cents.

because of your reply im guessing you have never got good rates, at $4 a mile + if youre crying about weight you deserve to get stuck w crappy rates.

Skate-board , again , understand I get nothing out of lying to you or anyone on here. The more informed we all are and without giving each other to much info to give up our own customers , the better off we will all be as you will demand higher rates like the local guys do.

I wish I could tell you I was a freight genious and have a secret to getting those rates, but that would be a lie. Im not that smart and don't give myself that much credit.

Im not in 5th grade, not trying to start an argument w you or anyone else on here. The reason why I shared that info was so that when you come, the brokers knowing better don't take advantage you, also by taking the cheap loads , you mess it up for the guys that are here and do know better because theyre based out of here and/or might understand this area better.
