Looking for feedback on navigation options for Prime drivers. Is the NaviGo app built into the Qualcomm really good?

Are there better options out there?

Should I just stick with the McNally Atlas?

I think the routing on google maps is the best around. also use common sense.

Yes, it is in the Qualcomm. It is good most of the time but like any GPS you need to be wary of where it wants to route you. It's decent for the most part.

I use a Rand McNally GPS the most, not that I really like it but it's good for finding truck stops along the route.

you can have all the common sense in the world, even google will get you into trouble.
you defenitly want a truck gps in los angeles. even if you don't encounter bridges, you'll defenitly be faced with no truck streets to the left, right, and forward.

    Snowwy,

What truck gps would get you through LA? Would Prime NaviGo do it?

The best advice is to NEVER rely on a GPS. Do your homework with our routing files, maps, satellite data and a GPS BEFORE you head in. Knowing what you will be facing before you hit the toad is infinitely preferable to placing your trust in a computer (GPS) that is only as good as the data in the last software update. Remember... the situation on the ground changes faster than the programmers can revise the database.

Also don't be afraid to steal from the past and write route notes in red grease pencil on the windshield above your head. Its easier to glance up for the information you need rather than turning your head right. You can use a Mr. Clean magic eraser or a rip off brand version of it to take the grease pencil right off the windshield with no residue left behind.

well, if you were going to write on windshield, then you can use the dry erase markers. those are easily removed, with your finger or a cleaning rag.

So, crayons (color, drivers choice) don't work as well?

I use fuel routing and macro 19 directions in conjunction with gps. If there is a discrepancy gps will catch up with me.
