Ok guys... I am starting to re-think being a trucker.... you've scared me

I've had a few, can't say anybody scared any out of me but more than a few had tried.

 

Amen...once you do that...you can sleep just about anywhere.

 

So, 21...are you going for OTR or going dump truck or even bus driving?

Sounds like you got off easy. Some paid 5 thousand bones for a CDL and have nothing to show for it. Your situation could be worse.

 

I have been a trainer 3 times in my career and its not for everyone, I have been subject to playing dr phil many times, students bring their problems on the truck, we do not have time for that crap, also we never know if your a crack pot or not either. We have to take someone who whatches bj and the bear re-runs and try to make a driver out of them. Most wind up being steering wheel holders with that 4 wheeler mentality. Companies are really only concerned about the revenue numbers anymore and not what it takes to get the job done. Their is a lot of stress put on us to train you into becoming something they want as a profitable key in their act of business. They dont care how we actually do it. It takes all kinds of people to make the world go round, but the traveling public will never give you the respect you deserve. So back off the trainers, you will learn this business and something new everyday your in it. If you think that trainer can teach you all their is in the short time your with him, get out now and go hand out smiley faces at walmart because your very neg and will probaly hurt youself or someone one day because your too ignorant to have the common sense to understand it.

 

I also attended and completed the Schneider Training Academy in Green Bay, Wisconsin about 4 months ago. And i also only had to attend the academy for 7 days but only because I had already completed and received my class A CDL from Roadmaster just a few weeks before. In that 7 days at Schneider Academy I was basically flooded with what seemed like a ton of information that I had to remember in such a short amount of time. After completing that I was sent home where a few days later I received a call from my trainer letting me know when and where I would need to meet him to began training. Training usually takes anywhere from 1-3 weeks before you are officially assigned a truck. However you will receive you badge/ID number and comdata card during your final day at the academy in Green Bay. You also will received a free pair of company approved work boots once a year.
