Lepton,
Ask your DM to put you on the 747 fleet. It is a team fleet for loads that have to deliver yesterday. You will get a lot of hyper focus and high value loads though. That's the fleet I was on when we were OTR for a bit.

Blah, blah, blah is right. Don't they always say 'miles are fantastic?' Nobody has ever seen an advertisement saying, "We can't promise you fantastic miles and, in fact, the miles we arrange might be pretty darned bad." Nah. That would be too honest...and it wouldn't get too many new or experienced drivers' applications.Last edited: Oct 20, 2014

Even after 3 wildly educating years with Swift I still cannot figure out how keyboard pounders do their math.
Received a Costco ppln earlier today from Morris to south side of St Louis. Only 250 + 35 mty, not the 500 miler to MN finishing Wednesday that I hoped for but figured what the heck, I'll take the easy run and get something longer to start off next week. I was supposed to p/u at 11am and d/h at the store by 7pm. Piece of cake on a 4hr drive but would leave me just shy of 3k miles for my weekly goal.
Two hours later it's removed with the reason that "driver targeting to be late, voiding to save service to cust". WTF!! late!?! I've run literally 100's+ loads and 100% on time. A brand new driver could do that job driving backwards and be on time!!
But then 10mins later...I get another Costco ppln.
A 500 miler (total) up to The Twin Cities delivering Wednesday morning!! Gives me the 3000+ miles I want for the week and I'm out of Chicagoland.
Exactly what i wanted..go figure. I'm not making this stuff up. Needless to say I took the load. -
When my trainee is qualified to run as a team I'm on the 747 fleet. What I don't know is how planners in various areas treat that. If I'm planned out of Jurupa Valley or anywhere in the west then I get the long runs. However, especially out of the upper Midwest or Edwardsville the planning is an absolute joke.

From my experience it seemed they either didn't have anyone planning that fleet on nights and weekends or they didn't know what they were doing on nights and weekends. I always had better luck during the daytime hours getting good loads. I would usually just turn down the crap that they sent me and in the morning I would get a nice long load and sometimes several more stacked on top.

Been a little while. Still stuck here in Goodyear, AZ. Can not shake this darn flu again. Been almost 12 days now. Start to feel well then awake in the morning with chills and a fever of about 100 and when start to cough start to heave. even after talking about 5 minutes will lose my voice. My DM will not let me drive until I know that I am 101%. Told me not do worry about my payments right now. Worry about that later. There is quite a lot in my escrow but I would like to not touch that yet. Heading to the Philippines in January. FR8Monkey, did you see that??????

Doing a 10 at a rest area just across the MN state line on I-94 20 mins from final. Drop n hook at a Costco. Only have 4 minutes left on my 70.
Just after leaving Morris this afternoon get a ppln..a whole 124 miles from Twin Cities to some town in Iowa. Live loads at both ends with impossible schedule. What a dog!! Did a mac9 with times I could do and got a rejection. Cool, didn't want it anyway.
But 10 seconds later something new happened that I haven't seen in a while. The System sent me 2 load offers in a mac30 format.
Behind Door #1 was a light weight 1300 miler to South Carolina to a Wally World DC with a perfect schedule. D/H at both ends and the trailer is ready to pick up as soon as I dump my Costco.
Behind Door #2 was a 45K lb 500 miler to Missouri. Live load at both ends with too much time to pick up and deliver.
Took me about half a second to grab the prize behind Door #1!! Gets next week off to a good start. -
Home for a 34, which means that something came up that can't be pushed off another week...
This week has been pretty good; I picked up a few short hops that just about offset the ~150 miles I had to give up today to get home in time. Had I not come home, it would have been a great week. -
Sitting in Morris, IL. The good news is I got a 34 reset before running the short hop from Milwaukee and my trainee will have a 34 reset at 10:00 am today, so we are restocked with fresh 70's to run to Columbus and then to Jacksonville. The bad news is that with all the sitting around this week will end up at around 3000 miles for a TEAM. Absolutely pitiful.
I've started to notice unsolicited Mac30 format load offers in the last few days, it's happened twice. I think that's a welcome new feature if that becomes a regular thing. It would be nice if there was more complete and accurate information. I've had surprises after accepting Mac30 loads.HousTank Thanks this.
