I have built both of those myself and reworked them a bit to suit my requirements. So far I have been running them for about a year on a heavy tow truck and according to my oil samples take when oil is changed every 250 hours soot level is either the same or a little lower each time. I can't remember what the resistors were that I used but for the boost I can add boost to the actual engine boost or have it ready 1 psi under max boost and actual boost has no effect on reading at that point.
