Hello all! I was charged a few years back with misdemeanor obstruction of justice in a state different from the ones I would be applying in. I am interested in getting my Cdl b liscence but don't want to waste my money on schooling if I will never be able to get a career in this field. Also do I even have to put it down on applications since it is in a different state? I'm not sure if background checks will come back to show it. Any information would be wonderful thank you.

Yes, the criminal charges will show up. Many companies don't care about that anyway.
When you go to school, get the CDL-A because many companies that use CDL-B equipment also require CDL-A license anyway. -
Unfortunately I can't afford the rest of the money for the Cdl aChinatown Thanks this.

Funding may be available, no cost to you, for CDL-A training. Try the unemployment office for WIA program and Goodwill Industries has a website for free CDL school.

I have a misdemeanor in Ca for battery. I had it when I first started trucking. I have put it down whenever asked for this kind of info but nothing has ever been said about it. I haven't had any trouble getting hired anywhere. I was going to get it expunged but someone told me it might keep me from going to Canada (didn't work). Check the programs Chinatown suggested above. Wht do you have to lose?
