I haven't seen a thread or post on this, and it may be a stupid question.

Has anyone ever parked at a campground instead of just pulling over on a wide spot if you're in between towns and your hours run out?

Never have parked a truck at a campground. To my knowledge they usually have restricted parking and limited maneuvering space. I would not advise trying it either as there may be some underground culverts, water lines, etc that could be crushed by a fully loaded tractor trailer.

Best to stick to the "approved" truck parking areas such as rest areas, Truck stops, travel centers, truck terminals, etc.

bad idea IMO. the truckers who "camp" more than 34 hr reset are not a good target clientele IMO. You may think not much different setting up for 30' RV or trucks but a lot different animal ! Just think about the difference pulling into the grocery store with a small car or big van or something. That's less than 10' difference. A big road truck is 70' or more. Now just going from 12' to 20' can cause problems in a parking lot. Don't even start to think you can accommodate 75'trucks just because you get 30' RV's in you consider big.

Thank you for your input and I agree , however, I have and drive a 40 foot coach with a tow for a total of 62 ft on a daily basis traveling full time and am very much aware of the amount of space etc. needed per truck believe me, a lot of campgrounds are not even big enough for my coach. I was just wandering if you guys would prefer a more comfortable and secure environment to park if you had the option thanks and God Bless all

Do you actually think truckers will pay to park in a campground?

Doubt many truckers would pay, but have a 40ft coach with 24ft trailer, just as long as any truck and over 55k in weight. Lotta sites have long pull thrus so it is possible!

Not really. The acreage needed, surface preparation and everything else would price most truck drivers out of the market. unless you think Prime, Pam, TMC, JB, CR England, or the rest of the big fleets would pay for their drivers to park at a camping resort. HA HA HA HA.

I would rather park at the TS and go get a hotel room for my weekend reset.
