Used to be a driver keep forever his copies of his old logbooks,,today with electronic logs a driver should keep a personal record of all his miles and and all his loads..

If you have a smartphone, the Big Road app keeps all this for you, just email the logs to yourself every week and you will have your hours and miles......

What was on the odometer when you got it and what's on the odometer now? Simple math.

When I was on elogs at the end of the year for tax purposes the company gave me 12 pages of logs. One page for each month broken down by date, where I started, where I ended, driving time, total on duty time, and miles driven that day.

    That's a lot of trucks.

Do you pay stubs show miles on them? That might be an easier way to add them up.

Most drivers that get paid by the mile know what their average is per week. Multiply times 50. You will find that your prospective employers ask for miles ran and states that you ran them in. This is just data. No one will go back and add up your miles. If you are really general like me I will estimate 100,000 miles a year. If you have more than 2 years experience and worked in several states that is all that is important. I have ran over 140,000 and under 70,000. nobody cares. They only care if you worked full time. You are over thinking this problem.

Check your pay settlement stub carefully. IDK about every company but mine shows YTD miles and life-to-date miles driven since I've worked for them. I'm on e logs too. Good luck!
