My Wife and I are a team for Hartt and we have to say that we chose this company due to the way it treats its drivers. Lets face it, no company is perfect and if you demand perfection get your own authority and your own truck. Were company drivers and I have also run Solo for them as well. Hartt fixes their trucks and they are also buying new trucks to add to their fleet as well as building a new terminal in Auburn Maine. They have never shorted us on our pay as we track everything, and their dispatcher for US has been nothing but GREAT! Im not saying they dont have some bad eggs in their basket only that for what they say and do its the real deal. They have been in business for a long time and they dont tell drivers to cheat, lie or otherwise do something illegal in fact the safety department is on us for any infraction. They care about what their drivers are doing in Their Trucks and are concerned about their CSA record as any good company should. We are happy with what were driving and our pay and as for our truck, we have a new one comming real soon and were choosing a VOLVO. So if your complaining about the dispatchers telling you to run illegally your obviously not talking to the right person in the company.

Hello John and Stacy. My brother-in-law and I are considering team driving with Hartt out of the Sumter terminal. Where do teams run mostly? Any other info you could give to help us decide would be greatly appreciated.

Sumter Terminal, we don't do a whole lot with Sumter other than Drop and Hook which is what teams do with Hartt. That's good for you and you increase your mileage of course. I know Hartt has other yards and a small terminal in Fulton which we also do drop and hooks. As for where you run well that can be anywhere and mostly East of the Mississippi. We do not go into the Burroughs of New York City or downtown Chicago or Washington DC. Were presently running at least 5000 to 70000 a week and home every 3 weeks. The money is good and Hartt treats its teams very well. It puts you at the front for many things due to the fact that your a team, and they are not shy to tell you that in orientation. Your dispatcher is the key and if your not happy about the one your assigned to tell someone and you can request another. Any further questions don't be afraid to ask. One other thing, You both must have 14 months of verifiable OTR experience and they are a company that's worth giving at least one year before you decide to look for another but at least give them a chance.

Sounds great. My brother-in-law spoke to a recruiter and he said a lot of the same, that teams are too valuable to them to have them stuck in NYC or DC. But they said we could be home weekly and still get 5000-6000 miles a week. Hopefully he's not just blowing smoke about that. Also most of our experience is local tractor-trailer, but they said it would qualify because it is interstate driving. How is their health insurance? Also what are the options for their trucks? Fridge, inverter, and what not? And are they manual, auto, or some of each? Thanks.
