It is like a German law about pusher/tag axlex.

If truck is empty u can manually rise lift axle, but if it is loaded - lift axle is down, but there is tracktion help switch in cab, if u press it - axle is up till truck runs over 10-20 MPH. This is the way to avoid axle overload, but we use to change parameters of ECAS and many truckers run loaded with axle up and if they see scale they actuate lift axle

eu law allows 11.5t on drive axle , and total 19t on bogie so it is mostly 11.5+7.5t , although some people run different setups like 10.5+8.5, 9.5+9.5t

    and law allows 30% overload until 30kmh so 11.5+30%=14.95t (33 000lbs)

we need norweigan law,..... they dont have limit

I trying to find out what 23k axle I need to buy. Right now I have a RR20145 in the rear. So what would I look for. 23k with a locker. What would the model number be?

Jetsr6 I had the same twin screw 20145 that's Meritor rears you have. I changed it over to RS-23160 Locker with 3.58 gear ratio which I still have in storage now. I replaced the front drive with the RS-23160 Locker it is direct replacement then use back drive as a tag

    Thanks a lot.

I did find out that I can get 2.67 gears for the 23-160 too.

When you do buy one buy it as a whole setup because just the locker axle by itself is over 300 dollars new the torque arm to support that single drive is over 200 dollars new

We done one 2 years ago for a customer. Pulled a set of 404 eaton 3.70 rears out. Put in a 23.5 Rockwell rear with a locker with 2.67 I think I'm going off memory here I don't have the work order in front of me. Put a 20k air up air down pusher in it and a C ratio 10 speed. Seems like the bill parts and labor was nieghborhood of 14K. Has a 12.7 Detroit in front of it. He said it really helped fuel millage but he wished he still had the 14k in his pocket.

[wore out] I done all the work myself and had right at 7K in it and I do wish I had that money back every time I see that Single Locker sitting on my shop floor it was the biggest waste of money and time I've ever spent on a truck.
