Is there a safety blitz going on with DOT??

Since Monday, I have been redlighted on my prepass twice in Louisiana, once in Mississippi, twice in Georgia, twice in Missouri, once in Kansas, twice in Colorado and once in Wyoming. And not just pulled in and given the by pass lane for those scales that have it. I mean they pulled me and everyone else on the stationary scale. Twice today in Colorado they made me park and bring in my permits, the checked the cab card and IFTA. Did that on the I-25, the north one, and 40 minutes later had to park and show Wyoming. Most trucks have been doing the same thing. This has never happened with this frequency before that I can remember. Did I miss the memo or something? Anyone else going through this?

 

Oh and how could I forget. On Tuesday a state trooper on the Basin Bridge drove up beside me and shined his spotlight on me at 0400. In 8 years that has never happened and I've never seen it happen. I thought he was pulling me over so I started to to pull over on that narrow shoulder but then he drove off. I figured he would pull me over once we got off the bridge but no one did. Did I fall into the twilight zone this week?

 

Possible, but heck not to sound like smart ### but we go through the end of the year every year. I've just never had this level of checks. It's getting really ridiculous at this point. I still have Utah and Cali to go.
