At a big mega like Western Express a few bad apples don't matter. At a small company like mine they matter enough that I'd like to thump some skulls whenever anyone gets a stupid avoidable violation from the DOT. Bad drivers drag everyone down. That's how the system is set up. It is flawed and does favor megas. I didn't think it mattered either until companies like Landstar wouldn't touch us. Sometimes individual agents could get the rules bent for a driver they knew and trusted but it did cost me a lot of opportunity. You're a fool if you think it doesn't affect you because you're an ace.

Once again, selective reading and interpreting my words, so let me repeat the critical phrase, in red:
A good or bad score has no effect at all on the way I drive.
I never said it had no effect on my company or rates or shippers or receivers or insurance or...anything else, including that "it doesn't affect me." Making it personal by calling me "a fool" and "an ace" only shows a lack of attention to my words. -
So you're saying that my driving skill and ability and my choice to follow good operating practice is impossible if "the company [doesn't] care?" Hog wash. Not me. When a company has scores that bad - I don't use CSA scores as a factor used to decide whether to apply for a couple of reasons - it means drivers are behaving like bad scores mean they don't have to fulfill their obligations or those obligations don't apply to them. They're idiots and getting rightfully caught, not doing adequate pretrip said, or driving a truck with known deficiencies. It can also mean a driver stays with a company that isn't taking its obligations seriously. I wouldn't stay and it wouldn't affect my own driver performance.

It wiil effect the way you drive with hi numb. because you will be stopped an ck. at more scales and this will cut your driving time every time they ride up to your door and key in the # on door then blue an red, blue lights take you to the shoulder for insp.
-
That is true, but most decent companies pay you for a clean inspection. So in a way you are still making money and making the score better. And if you do get a violation, maybe you are the problem.baha Thanks this.

I am done giving my opinion. Drive with whatever company you choose.

And yet your argument is not convincing because my original question was not answered. Your examples do not relate to my question. Whether I get stopped often (I have) or get pulled into a scale and inspected (I have) and maybe issued a citation for something (never happened to me), I still drive the way I drive...in compliance with all applicable laws. Period.
Consequently, the (very flawed) CSA score remains irrelevant to me.baha, 88 Alpha and Wickedfire77 Thank this. -
Why, thank you!

Anyone tell you your kinda a dick.... pompous jerk

I thought you were done giving your opinion? Forum is full of broken promises and shattered dreams.
