No, you didn't. My question was 'why should I care with regards to CSA because it does not impact my driving.' You gave me good reasons why it might impact my company, my income, my daily travels, but not my driving technique. It's not "parching and nit picking," either. It's reading a paragraph for comprehension without inserting your own perspective. Read the entire original post again, without first answering the question you think I am asking. Then answer.
You can't, because there is no answer. CSA is a flawed, overly-generalized, non-specific grading system that does not in any way impact how I drive. (Note the use of 'how.' Not 'how many' or 'how far' or 'how long,' but simply 'how.' It's all about technique, not result.)Last edited: Oct 27, 2014
88 Alpha Thanks this. -
No. Never. Then again, I guess being able to carry on a debate without resorting to profane personal attacks isn't in your skill set. Pity. It able to do so might expand your horizons.Last edited: Oct 27, 2014

I don't understand why anybody would want to drive for a company that offers LOW pay, cheap equipment and bad CSA scores.
-
Nor should you try to understand. Leave them be and let them make their own decisions, even if it is a would be mistake.

Western fits a mold that some drivers need. Those that have been out of the loop for a while or those that don't have the best driving record might need a place to land to fix their ills. It's a balancing act.

Yes, but you want to get some time in with them and move on, not get stuck with a lease truck!
I'm curious, do they even sign on owner operators who do not lease trucks from them? -
Yes they do.

I have been leased to western since middle of july. Most weeks I average around 1400 after everything is deducted. I try to run at least 4800 miles the 12 days i'm out. I'm home every other Friday till Monday. The first week I normally get 3000 miles the next its a crap shoot. The biggest complaint I have is western is very unorganized. I am on my second DM figured that would help and nope he's no better. My csa score is excellent and I have excellent credit been driving 8 years. So why did I come here? It was the walk away lease and freedom of running the show without risking anything if it did not work out. If I get tired of it or them i am free to go no questions asked just turn truck in and go. They would like for you to drive mostly northeast because that's where 85% of their freight is. Told them no more northeast for me we will see how that's going to workout. Can I stay here and make a living absolutely but im not. Oh and the equipment is decent 2011 Cascadia 450,000 on it when I got it 60,000 interest free is not bad. Biggest check 2600 lowest 320 in the hole but hey gotta manage your money because you never know.
