I don't know if this is the right forum for this question or not, but I was wondering if anyone has ever drove OTR for Little Debbie? I see a lot of their trucks on 75. I checked on their website and you have to have experience but I was thinking of applying for them after I get a year or two in. It seems like a long term job you could retire from with great benefits. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about them or has ever worked for them.

The reason you see them a lot on I 75 is that they are out of Collegedale, TN just outside of Chattanooga on I 75. Since they make their own products chances are that you ll stay busy

Sounds like a Tasty job to me.

Being from the Chattanooga area, I know a lot of folks who work for McKee. By all accounts, it is a great company to work for.
as far as driving jobs, they run teams only. The owners are devout seventh day Adventist, so they have you home by sundown Friday and off until sunset Saturday every week in observance of their sabbath. The drivers usually leave out very early Sunday morning. They usually get home one day during the middle of the week too. I believe they pay a salary instead of mileage, and benefits are better than average. They frown upon smoking, and it is not allowed on company property or in the trucks. People who work for McKee seem very happy with their jobs and don't leave until they retire. I believe that you have to live within commuting distance of Collegedale to work for them as a driver. -
They are a great place to work. Have a few friends that work for them out of Mebane NC. Type of job you can retire from , it does require quite a bit of finger-printing product though.

It was unloading at stores or warehouse then returning with empty racks on wheels back to bakery.

I worked for Little Debbie's older sister...... Big Bertha, that's what happens when you eat that stuff for 50 years.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Who wouldn't be happy driving for a company like that? mmmm, Little Debbie, I can hear it now, "You know, semi retired, that last shipment was short again". " I have no idea how that could happen" ( with crumbs and wrappers all over the cab)
When I hauled bread, I'd deliver it to storage units, and the vans would take it from there to the stores, and in Green Bay, I'd always see a McKee truck doing the same thing I was doing, and he'd always give me some stuff. Makes my teeth hurt just thinking about that.

Oh man. I was addicted to Swiss Rolls for a good long while. Only like $1.79 per box (really!). Too cheap!
Anyway, in CDL school, my training truck was a retired 48-foot Little Debbie's reefer trailer.
Very nice.
