The NB Georgia scale on 85 was inspecting drivers on the platform scale!
-
Georgia has been doing that more often than ever.
I hope the southbound scale never gets opened back up but you know it will one day..
The northbound 85 SC scale red lights me every time I cross them empty. The loaded trucks get the bypass...wtf! -
NCMICKEY, I have seen lots of cops at NC-GA everytime I go down that way. Worst day has been Tuesday. I just cruise along at 5 over and laugh at the NJ-NY and MD idiots. Pa drivers are pretty bad too.
ncmickey Thanks this. -
I got pulled at a little podunk scale on US 129 in rural N. Central FL the other day. One of those scales where 99% of the time there's nothing but tumbleweeds...The little trailer house is so crummy they actually sit in their cars/SUVs with a remote scale readout on the rare occasions that they are there. Anyway, I was pulling an OS/OW load that grossed just a tick under 137k, so had my dropaxle down. With that configuration, I have a blanket permit good for 140k. Well, the nice officer had just gotten lunch and was just about to take a hunk out of his triple burger when I pulled alongside him on the scale. He looked at his readout, then asks me (thru his and my window) how much my permit is good for. So I replied 140k; he says "Noooo, how much does it say on the permit!"
So I replied real slow and over annunciating my words...."I said my permit is for up to 140,000 pounds, sir. You see, I'm allowed the extra weight with this permit when I have seven axles on the ground...(as I reached out and pointed out my drop axle...LOL) {*side note*I have 3 permits- 1 for 6 axles, 1 for 7 axles, and 1 for when I have my stinger axle hooked up for 8 total}
He looked out at it, then gave me a half-assed nod to go while grabbing his burger again to start mowing into it....
Gosh, I felt terrible having disturbed his tasty meal......Jackwad!

must be. The extortion squads were out today hassling people hard on I-80 in PA and I-71 just north of Columbus. Way more activity than usual.
-
Most of them are old and junky looking at this point so probably look like ripe targets for defective equipment tickets. Just my guess.

Can't remember the last time I saw a Columbia with a fully painted cab extender...
