Just wanted to know if any of you car haulers have the scoop on Hansen and Adkins? I am new to this car hauling industry so any info or advice will be appreciated. I haul groceries for US Foods but since Sysco is buying us out I am looking for something new.I know car haulers are an elite group with skills that come over time and learning curves...I have interviewed with Hansen out of Montgomery,al...hope all goes well and in time make some nice money.

Main training center's in Jacksonville, FL. Require 3 years provable in last five. Top tier, good CSA and their west coast unit has even better CSA. 5 or 6 weeks training, I think. More cats per square foot, the four-legged kind, mostly neutered, than you've probably seen before. Visited them in 2012 while tooting around the country interviewing trucking companies.
Unlike freight, or so I'm told, when you leave out they ask when you'll be there. "Oh, Thursday or Friday," is good enough as long as you DO deliver Thursday or Friday. Mostly all daycabs, so you cross the country from motel to motel.
Hansen and Adkins is STILL on my list of maybe's. I liked them.
Worth a visit.Ace228 Thanks this. -
Victor you know if they pay decent for company driver and any advice
-
Hi Ace, I believe they pay very well for company driver, well above average for freight. Not just 'decent'. Their trainer was an old hand, had been an O/O for them for a long time. My hunch is that he has retired by now. I'm sure if you Google them in Jackson, then call and ask to talk to trainer. If it were me and I were interested and making the change to car hauling, I'd make a visit.
That's my best advice, go say 'hi'. Spend a day there.Ace228 Thanks this. -
I am hired in now with Hansen so here soon I will start training and hope all goes well.
interpreter and Chris Teal Thank this. -
Hey! That's great, congratulations. Hope you will update us here with YOUR experience. Now, you're the expert, the man.
Look forward to hearing from you and hope you will report in depth if allowed. (Not a bad idea to check and see how H&A feels about being reviewed in real time. Could help them recruit, after all.)
I think you've found yourself a good outfit.Ace228 Thanks this. -
I hope they are a good outfit its hard to find reviews on them but seems like they are staying busy and are getting updated tractors. I will run out of Montgomery,al. I think it will be fine just hope in time the money is there as I gain knowledge and experience. I will definitely keep you and anyone updated on the real deal of H&A.
