Got ATT phone and now it's unlocked. Has new simm and I'm out of contract.....problem is I can't make call or email UNLESS I'm in 4G.
I want to be able to roam / toggle carriers / towers.....like the old days.
Phone is unlocked by carrier BUT I can't access network settings...still greyed out in programming.....sup? Need rooting?
Need help....

So what carrier are you operating through now? Have you asked your current carrier about this issue?
-
Thats odd because 4G is strictly data,.. has nothing to do with voice.
If you havent rebooted the phone,.. I would definitely try that. If your out of contract then how do you expect to have service? Am I missing something?
Hurstsemi retired semi driver Thanks this. -
what phone model is it. some phones you can reboot and press keys to get in developers mode.
-
Absolutely...after you do the time in contract your free to leave or stay.....the service rolls on. I made ATT give me the unlock code....however this problem started before the contract was up.....
And yes I've spoken to tech support....they said put in a new simm card....and I dd.
I dunno..... -
Its a Samsung and I have the codes....afraid to be rooting around in the software though.......one wrong step and the phone is junk.
-
Sounds like the phone is already junk....... Sad thing is I didn't understand any of your post.
-
Take it to the place who gave you the simm and have them deal with it, it sounds like it may be a problem with the simm.
-
I know man, sorry. I've been meaning to change my brand of dope.
-
Who are you using for a carrier?
From the limited explanation, it sounds like you may be trying to use your AT&T phone on a Verizon network. Verizon has recently enabled Voice over LTE (VoLTE) in some areas, and will show the symptoms you describe.
