The truck is a rental through a National Lease place, and I think they are moved from the factory before a title is issued, so any permits would probably be temporary, the truck is titled in WI and registered there, too, and has our company's DOT number on the sidebox door with our company logo, a few have that number and another DOT number elsewhere(bottom of driver's side door. The truck was assembled in Mexico, to the north from what I understand and delivered from there to the dealer nearest the purchaser or where the truck was purchased.

Some companies bypass the local dealer for a larger network of dealers and a better price, and that is where I have seen FLs being prepped at a non FL dealer nearest the final destination with that dealership being owned by a larger group.

Too many competitors too close by to allow another FL dealership to be there. This lease company is owned by a group that also owns a group of dealers, which is also pretty common.

You travel light since you're just in the truck for a couple days, right ? So, climb in, toss your suitcase on the passenger floor, drive to destination, break down the units, get paperwork signed, cab to either hotel or airport, fly home. Not much fun, ya' think ?

When most of the trk. movers were union it was a great gig.
Now you see these guys with a setup they pull behind a pickup that attaches to the fifth wheel plates to lift them for hauling.
Not the gravy gig they used to be..
I would study a whole lot before doing it.
Like the other poster said look at the reviews about trk. movers. iron tiger I is another name also

The situation I am in presently isn't much fun. I am entertaining alternatives. But you are right, this doesn't sound like the best fit, though I figure I could get more hometime.

    Hometime, What's that ? :biggrin_25515:

If your looking for hometime, check out your local unemployment office, craigslist and temp offices. :biggrin_25525:

Whats this for? I was most recently out from late June to two weeks ago. Save your criticism for the kids who think OTR means they're only out three days a week.

If you want home time, look for local distribution centers that have their own trucks.
