BMI/neck measurement?

dont know when the last time i slept all thru the night. guess us older folks dont need as much sleep as you young ones lol

 

I think it is because our metabolism and thought processes slow down, so we don't need as much to recover.

However, when the average age of a truck driver is well over 50, it means that those sleep studies might be more against us older folk than the younger ones.

 

I'm a 2 striker when it comes to sleep apnea: old #####, fat #####. Although this past year I did drop 30 pounds which I don't know how that happened. I thought it was cancer but the VA gave me a butt load of blood tests and all were negative but high cholesterol. 2 more pills for the road

The VA gives 2 pills for every malady you have

 

Just pass the D.O.T. physical for Swift and you're good. There are lots of large people driving here.

 

Just finished working for Swift last weekend. The only problem I had was when I first re-hired in 2012 they made me do a sleep study which was redundant since I was already using a CPAP but the DOT doc wanted current data before he would pass me. It's a 1 year card though which bites....but my new company pays for medicals so I don't know why I'm squawking about it.

 

Apparently there's a reading comprehension problem for some so at the risk of repeating myself I will.

SWIFT USES A BMI OF 35 OR MORE ONLY TO DETERMINE THE RISK OF OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEA, NOT NECK SIZE.

No to the outdated sleep study. At the doctor/examiner's discretion you will get a six month card if you're close to being at 35 or you will be required to do the sleep study. If your height and weight put you way above 35 I wouldn't expect you would get a six month card. If you qualify to drive for Swift in every other way they will do everything possible NOT to send you home. You know what your BMI is based on the numbers I posted. Is it above 35? If it is can you drop the pounds before orientation?
