I've just got my ranger rci 2950 dx back from the radio shop where I shipped it to for repair, radio shop supply Ramona california I got the radio installed yesterday at a radio shop at a truckstop in Fontana california I spent $100 US dollars on the install I Also had my Wilson 200 fitted on the cascadia mount and Wilson cable all routed through the drivers door it was a proper install ok radio was receiving good at the truckstop so I'm heading for Barstow in California I-15 all the way back to calgary last night driving from whiskey Pete's in Nevada to utah the radio started acting weird I'm an ssb guy so it's flickering from ssb to pa and making crackling noises even I pull out the mic no change while I ask for a radio check on 19 it goes from tx -rx the radio was 7 weeks away until I received it back im very pissed off now after paying for it to be repaired only to get it back and it doesn't work , I need some advice on my next move the radio has a warranty seal I'm driving a 2012 freightliner cascadia it also has Qualcomm system the Antenna isn't grounded but I really think the problem lies inside the radio , should I take a photo to prove seal hasn't been broken I need some advice from some of you guys who have been around radio for a while

Not that i use it much but.. I am having a problem to the cable for antennas are routed thru the side mirror brackets on the door.. the drivers side doesn't have a good connection and stops working with a bump in the road.. its behind the mirror inside the housing and difficult to get to.. its a company truck, I'm not sure I want to spend anymore on it.. a reroute with new cable would be the solution here.

edit: have only the drivers side hooked up low due to branches

Your right you have a serious problem, and I do not refer to your CB.

I guess if it was me, I would contact the company that worked on it & see if they are willing to work with you on it. It could be something related to why they initially worked on it & ... it may not be related. But, because its sealed, I would talk to the company who worked on it & ask them what they think. Possibly, they will tell you that its related & they will stand behind it. If not, then take it to someone else & get it fixed. Then don't do business with the original repair company anymore.

GO to the radio shop supply website, fill out the RMA form and when you get an RMA number, send it in with details of the exact problems with it.

Just return it and have them figure it out.

2950 can be finicky. There used to be a shop in PA along I-80, I think it was Bob's that sold them, but they did what they called ruggedized, so that the vibrations would not bother them. I've had that one for almost 20 years with no problems, but the first one I had the screen went blank. I knew how to turn it on, and get to Ch 19, but couldn't do much more than that. They gave me a little bit for trade in.

Sounds like you have a switch going bad, or perhaps a short between some wires. But the best thing would be to see if you can return it.

^ This is the best advice you can get, Chip is a good guy and easy to work with. I'm sure if there is a problem within the radio he'll take care of you as long as the tamper seals have not been broken.
