Denver, CO at the TA East.

I had a live unload this morning and only had 1.5 hours left on my 70 when I got here.
After several pplans were turned down (pick up today and deliver today locally, live on both ends) I finally called my DM to set my PTA for tomorrow morning.
Now I'm on a load picking up tomorrow at 1000 in Aurora and delivering in Brighton, just a few miles away.

It seems there are a LOT of short runs, right now, around here.

Just as well. I need to renew my med card in less than a week. So I'll head back to the Denver terminal after I drop that load.
Can I get in done there? Since it is a training terminal I'm hoping so.
I just got a message informing me of the need, and 'encouraging' me to go to Phoenix or Memphis if possible.

I had a new one today. Got to my delivery in Dallas, a simple drop and hook, and the Enforcer Lock would not unlock!!??? I tried WD-40 and worked on it a good hour while waiting for road service. It was just plain old stuck. Finally had the road service guy cut it off, then bought a new padlock at Lancaster when I grabbed a local delivery.

That Enforcer padlock sure does get chewed up, the way they have the bent up lock holes on the trailers. It lasted about 18 months, but $40 just for a new padlock????

After making the local delivery I grabbed a load delivering in Ontario, CA. Then I'll take a few days off with my wife to go visit our daughter and son in San Jose.

My windshield has lasted exactly 27 days. This is a new record for shortest time needing a new windshield. I now have a crack 6 inches long under the right windshield wiper blade, just discovered it. I guess that's good news, since Jurupa Valley really screwed up the last installation. Even Troutdale's attempt to glue it down hasn't cut out the shrieking Banshee's from hell. Maybe I'll try and get it done somewhere OTHER than a terminal before I put this baby into B service on my home time....

    HousTank Thanks this.

    Lamar, CO, headed for TX.

I've got 5 days left to renew my medical card, so I'm hoping I can get it done in Lancaster.
Either that, or get a load to Memphis or Phoenix from there.

I had a service failure drop off recently, so now I'm at Platinum. Woo-hoo!

    Lepton1 and HousTank Thank this.

I was put on hold 3 or 4 days before my card actually expired, so there's a good chance you'll have to get it wherever you are currently going.

I love how they work it.

Get a message saying I have 6 days to do it, and recommend doing it at Phoenix or Memphis.
Then no pplans heading me there.
Surely the planners should be able to see flags like that?

    Total BS!!!
They know when it expires, and they can set something up IF they WANTED to!

Well, if I get put on hold then it will be up to them to fix it after the fact instead of just routing me correctly in the first place.

    By the way...
    HEY MsJamie!
    How you doing these days?

I remember getting stuck in North Carolina for three days over something like this.

I was at the "new" T/A in Mocksville for a 34; I was visiting friends that lived nearby. I was already dispatched to pick up a load to take to Memphis. When I parked, I had 6 days left on my "countdown" to take a class; I was being routed to Memphis specifically to take the class.

Getting in my truck after my 34, I found that my load had been removed. Calling my DM, I found that I was on hold pending taking the class... which wasn't due for another 4 days. In Memphis. A day's drive away. The load was scheduled to be delivered in two days.

Two days later, I ended up taking the class... over the phone.

It must have been a good class, because I can't even remember what it was about.

Yes you can take it at any terminal that has orientation usually within 30 days of med card expiring, if you are around when they bring in the fresh herd of greenhorns you can slip into the line. I know this works at Laredo at least, if not and you are close to expiring they will send you out bobtail to a clinic.
