That's an odd pattern of damage to attribute to... just about anything that didn't hit the truck twice, and somehow left no scrapes that would suggest the direction of travel of the striking vehicle.
Hit and run victim..what to do now????

I agree, except the damage came from the front direction. You can tell by the rear fairing, after the fuel tank. If a car hit this truck, it would have been impaired.
IMO, looks to me as if a truck backed into it. -
I just got off the phone with the MD State Police, they told me they HAVE cameras, just that they aren't recorded, just monitored.Go figure, just our luck
I also called the shop and the shop manager said MAYBE tomorrow, but def. Monday. I have no clue what we are going to do.I clean condo's in the summertime but winter here in FL is all snowbirds and local help is a joke.Especially when they look at the income, on paper we look like a million bucks, but I see what comes in and I am sure we'd qualify for assistance. This stinks. It wouldn't be so bad if it were just me and the hubby, but the kids are the ones who will suffer in the long run.

I agree totally. That was my first question, was he sure it was a car! He said yes, he crawled out of the sleeper and there was a black car sitting sideways in the middle of the road , then the car took off.I am guessing that an insurance adjuster would know if it was a truck or not, cause they'd want to know for paperwork reasons I assume. But I wasn't there, and obviously the hubby was in the sleeper when it happened. From what I understand, and from what I seen of the area, the car took the turn too fast in the rain, and this was the result
Had this been any one of us and we'd have not stopped we'd be stripped of our licence and never insured again.

Did you read the LP contract before you signed it? Did you know your coverage on the insurance and what it pays?
DO NOT do a LP. It is not for your benefit but the companies. In most LP's Your hubby is not a company driver so company has no obligation to assist you. Do not let the company brush you off. The insurance is going to do what the company wants and only what the company wants. YOU DO NOT own the truck if an LP. Have hubby talk to insurance. You might get it totaled. It has been done . Bent frame ect.
If he was not parked in a designated parking spot the out come may be bad. NOT legally parked means insurance does not have to pay anything.,
As posted prior. CALL OOIDA. They are for truckers. Hopefully our hubby is a member. . Look at Dave Nemo show web site. There is a charitable org that he sponsors. One of his cohorts is heading it that helps truck drivers and families that have fallen on hard times such as you have.Last edited: Nov 6, 2014

Why didn't he fly or take the bus home? Did he think the truck would be fixed by the magic body shop fairy in two days? Bad decisions by your husband put you guys in this situation.

I for one am concerned and im sure others here are as well, will you please keep us updated?

I know this is after the fact, but this one of the reasons I keep a dash cam in my truck. Once I'm parked, it's on motion / parking mode. If something triggers it, it starts recording. You can adjust the sensitivity so that flashing lights or falling leaves don't keep it recording full time.
Just something to think about. Glad your other half is ok and hope everything gets straight, home and truck wise. -
Hmmmmm....
... was there remnants of a police decal embedded in the paint and perhaps the faint odor of donuts?
