Yes, they require a 12 month contract if they train you. And I'm pretty sure they do NOT have a tuition reimbursement program.

When in the **** did they start that?? That sounds dumb as **** and I love most of the folks over there at Sheldon but I don't get why they would do something like this. If you break the contract do you have to pay them back or something?
-
Yes they require a commitment not sure of early departure penalty?
-
When I was going through the application and hiring process Jeanne informed me that if I left Van Wyk within the first year I would be responsible to reimburse the company the money paid to me while I was with a trainer. Thus, if I ran with a trainer one week I would be responsible to reimburse that one weeks pay and so on. It was not a set rate but rather a rate based on how much training I would have received.

So timestamp, how's it going? I Have family in the northern neck.

Hey guys, I just wanted to check in here and see how everyone at Van Wyk is doing. I live in Fredericksburg, VA and will be graduating CDL school January 2nd. I have been talking with Jeane about coming on board and I am strongly considering this company over the others that I've spoke with. Everyone seems to be very happy.

VAdriver you will not find a better company to start at. Many of us started at much worse. Your biggest challenge IMO will be running Van Wyk's tight schedules as a new driver. Seems like the megacarrier training companies have you do a lot of sitting. Even after a year experience before VW, they had my head spinning.
Also who drives 886?! Thank them for crapping up trucking and VW's image! They were photographed throwing trash out the driver's window and the photo has been pasted to VW's fb page! -
Not me Brian, I drive 1006.

you could do alot worse than vw and dam nice equipment .
i left cause mike vogl called me upstairs one day and told me my miles wernt up to his liking even tho i stayed out 2 to 3 weeks ata time ...didnt care for sittin all day then expected to run all nite which was commen with them ....shop ppl were real good and most the dispatchers were decent once they get to kno ya and youre pay is always on time .
my only other bones pick with them is that they are very pushy ...they falsified my elogs once to show hours i didnt have and after i gave them a full 2 weeks notice and turned the truck in at sheldon tim found it nessasary to ding my dac for knocking a marker lite off a trailer at ibp in dakota city which i reported monday morn .
which i thought was petty .
dont want to dwell on the negative tho ....the people at the waynesboro and great bend term were good people and they were very good about getting me home and left me alone when i was home .
mike vogl is a jerk that thinks only of mike vogl and isnt well liked so i wouldnt work for them again but for someone that likes to be under the gun all the time and be under mikes production microscope it might work for ya .
