let them look that is their job, let them summit it to the state so what, i do not see your point here. if you fail the company will know and that is all that matters.

The point is that the statement above a driver's signature on a DOT long form that reads "I certify that the above information is complete and true. I understand that inaccurate, false or missing information may invalidate the examination and my Medical Examiner's Certificate" is apparently a bit too much for you to grasp.
-
gee wiz, i guess if i over look something and they invalidate my medical card i'll just have to go take another exaime. -
The problem is now the next company will know, and the one after that. and the one after that indefinitely. Before a failed exam didn't stick with you and people could Dr/company shop until they passed. Now you actually have to remedy the problem.

Why are so many people being diagnosed with sleep apnea these days? Look at the ever-expanding waist lines in 'Murica. Truckers in particular. My $.02 on sleep apnea (I've had it for going on six years now)...if someone doesn't like their sleep apnea diagnoses, they should hit the gym instead of the all you can eat buffet line. I've met only one person that I would say obesity was not a significant factor in their sleep apnea diagnoses and need to use a CPAP.bigjoel Thanks this.

Planning to start a thread tomorrow reviewing the literature. We have 3 camps, 1) Just say no, don't get diagnosed with a disease; 2) It's a big scam foisted on us; and, 3) CPAP saved my life.
And they're all correct! The literature is interesting, especially the research stuff that points out that interpreting your test can be controversial, an art, like reading an x-ray. Not all interpretations are equal, some are motivated out of $$ to be had and yes, you can get a 2nd opinion.
So bubba, how'd you ever come up with bubbagumpshrimp? May I ask? -
Yup. A couple years back, I'd been using pretty much the same screen-name for all of my forums for a while. I decided to mix it up and go with something completely random for the next forum that I registered for. I sat down and started thinking about movies and 'Forrest Gump' popped into my head. After thinking about Bubba talking about the different ways to cook shrimp and the company that Forrest ended up founding...I decided to go with that.Victor_V Thanks this.

find a good job and stick with it. also just because you failed a examine dose not mean you can not fix what is wrong, it also dose not mean you will be fired. i' am sure lots of folks find out they need glasses or have high BP or other aliments that they need addressed from their family doctor before they can get a medical card.
-
Even if you stay with the same company/job you still have to get a medical card at least every 2 years. Plenty of truck drivers never see a Dr for an annual physical. Without the med card requirement many would never see one. The new rules are in place because many forged the cards. Lots of companies won't accept a Med card from outside the provider they use and pay for for this reason. The information age is changing that.

Agreed. Mind your own business. If you don't feel safe then get yet another co driver or as your boss is probably thinking another company.ramblingman Thanks this.
