    I should have listened!!!

i was driving for England and they fired me because I accidentally damaged the trailer on some train tracks and my load of lettuce was rejected. I need to find a good lease/purchase company that doesn't do DAC, do hair testing or watch the news.

Do they not teach trip planning anymore, or is it all just tunnel vision on that GPS? The video mentioned that the tractor "Followed a different route than most trucks" so it leads me to wonder if he actually did any trip planning, or if he just put the address into the GPS and hit OK.

you heard the people. there's no signs banning trucks, and apparently trucks DO take that road. just not normally. so he was perfectly legal to listen to his gps.

you can see the landing gear. but the road itself don't look that steep to be hitting the gear. hard to tell though.

He was just following his GPS he says. That's the problem with todays truck drivers, they follow the GPS and don't focus on their surroundings. He should have notice the steepness of the bump before trying to drive over it.There wasn't any signs informing of the danger but the problem with GPS is drivers don't notice anything they depend of their GPS way too much.I'm glad no injuries but I hope this so called truck driver pays dearly for this one.

do a google street view, and there is a warning sign for trucks about the grade, and getting stuck... and 12th street is NO where close to the nice road leading to the dole facility.

    joseph1135 Thanks this.

google street view shows the sign....

and there is a manufacturing plant beside the tracks.

but it is no where near the route one would take to get to the dole facility, on a nice new road.

ok thanks, the video said there isn't any signs. But leave it to a newbie driver to pull something stupid. How many veterans work for England and how many veterans are young drivers.Drivers these days are young taking over our roads, many have no clue how to read a map and won't even try to apply themselves. They're in die or need to get a gps otherwise they're going to be in trouble.I would,nt be surprised if most of the preventable accidents like this taking no truck routes, hitting low bridges ect ect is all because of them depending far too much on the GPS.I'm not blaming GPS or drivers for using the GPS but the problem is most don't even glance at the atlas and compare routes.People don't call for directions ask other drivers the best way to go or nothing they solely depend far too much on only the GPS.
