Eaton fuller 18 speed ?

    I have a rtlo18918b transmission and a few weeks ago we lost some teeth on the 2/6 gear. I decided to fix it my self and took my time and did it right. Has been running fine for 2 weeks now but today it started to get a little rattle in 2 gear but not in 6. Anybody else every experience this? Can't figure out why it would rattle in 2 and not in 6 because the same sliding clutch locks them both in. My only thought is that in 6th we are spinning so much faster that we don't hear it. Any thoughts or experiences you've had would be helpful before i pull it back out and investigate

    Probably needed to add a washer to main shaft. Will usually hear rattle at idle or very low speeds.
    If you hearing a faint knock you may have a gear with a burr you will notice at lower speeds also. Pull magnetic plug and check for metal. I assume you cleaned and inspected everything pretty good? It doesn't take much of a nick to make a noise on a gear.
