I can't believe I've ever paid to have this done. First time really easy job. Doing my steers and also the trailer tomorrow. After pulling a couple apart to take with me for the parts run I only had enough daylight to finish on right steer side this afternoon. My question is, should I have put some grease on the roller pin that rides in the s-cam while assembling or is it ok to just shoot some grease in when finished? The s-cam was nice and snug no play, expect the other side to be the same.

Don't grease the pins/rollers that ride on the s cam all it does is collect dirt and cause wear. Change the anchor pins and never seize them also would be a good idea to never seize the lip on the hub where the drum sits and possibly the studs some say not to but I always do so they come apart easier the next time never had issues.

S-cam and that pin sure were greasy and grimy. I don't know where all that came from. I cleaned it up. Everything came apart easy nothing was seized.

That was probably from greasing the s cam a little too much

I got enough funny looks running my overhead in a Pilot parking lot. Until I've got a garage of my own, I'll part with the $100 a wheel.

Yeah it sucks that polar vortex came into town around the best time I have to do this. Or it would be a lot more fun and I would have started 2 hours ago. Wish I had a shop with some heat. You get what you pay for I guess lol.

^ nothing like the cold asphalt to lay on, with the wind blowing underneath and drops of cold rain to really spice up a "free shop" day/ nite :/ more times than I can count lol

    #### I see what you mean now. Steers are easy. The big spring on trailer tandems are a mother...... though!
