If Rockwell hook single spring with rollers in then slide on cam. Hook the top springs on anchor end, clamp vice grips and pry down.
If eaton hook anchor springs leave rollers out and cam flat and the big spring will go right in, then pry lining to install rollers.
I'm sure the steers were eaton and the trailer Rockwell.rollin coal Thanks this. -
Eaton and meritor. I'll get the rollers out and try that way.

Are the anchor springs on the side or the face? On the side is Rockwell(meritor)

If you like keeping all the fingers you were born with make sure you have a good grip on the bar.

Yeah I'd like to keep them. I saw what you were talking about. If ever there was a way to pinch a finger that would do the trick lol.

There are various tricks for getting those big springs done. Go to a shop and ask the tech's their method, almost all of them will have a different way of doing things. My favorite way is with a modified flathead screwdriver. That and a 10# sledge hammer are the only two tools I need after the tires come off, plus whatever size wrench I need for the slack adjusters.
