Why is it so hard for people to believe you can get great rates you just have to look.
JJ has averaged $2.57 on all miles for the last 7 months. Yes we probably could have done better with the spot market but we made the decision to look after one agent and she keeps us very busy running mainly Intrastate all round trips.

I just finished two loads back to back that paid well over $3 a loaded mile. I had a bunch of deadhead in them but the first one was $2700 on 535 loaded miles. There are great rates available if you look for them.

    281ric Thanks this.

It'll probably have a half a dozen or more by tomorrow. Not because they're shaking pom poms but because they're out here doing it just like me and they know what's up. It's too bad you failed but not everyone is cut out to run a business. I'm sure you gave it your best effort. Couldn't control costs. Couldn't find good rates. It happens.

I went back and read some of your older posting, former union driver who lost the union gig, who moans in wage and hour posts about he made 20 an hour a year ago, says he current employer pays no attention when a complaint is made, says he bought a truck and trailer and paid cash for it with costs of 1.13 a mile and had rates of 2.00 to 3.00 a mile and couldn't stomach repair bills, who doesn't know the difference between leasing on and lease purchase, who can and cannot get paid on 1099.

and its not time to send in quarterlies yet, and yes I do pay my ss, and medicare self employment tax , but I don't have to pay unemployment taxes, I am self-employed , with a truck and trailer I own outright leased to mercer. I would be a dummy to pay unemployment taxes.

and the main point is , yes , I do file and pay my taxes every year. what I do is far different than driving someone elses truck and getting paid on 1099.

again, you are unhappy with how things are, mad at the world, really don't have a clue what you are talking about, and basically want everyone else to be as unhappy as you are.

I hope on my worst day I never reach the point you are at for even one minute.

those trucking mags you read must not have much info in them for you to be so behind on how things are, just like you thinking landstar does a lease purchase on trucks.

I hope things improve for ya 6 speed, it must be tough being miserable

Some of the best rates I have pulled in were booked through mega carriers. I find it better to go through them sometimes rather than looking to the bargain basement brokers. I have seen the same loads with them at half the rate. But what do I know, I'm only going on 6 months on my own.

Pull perishables through a HV distribution center and see where the big boy money is.
