Gardner Trucking in Cali would go for them. As a matter of fact, many western companies, especially in Oregon and California would snatch them up in a heartbeat because of length laws and some of the more interesting roads in NorCal. Plus California allows 57' trailers, the Argosy would be a great truck to run once again. Those guys running the double flats and the hay would buy them so quick your head would spin.

Agreed. I really wish they would put them back in production. We haul 57' and 59' footers here in Texas for Frito Lay and they would be great for that. Not to mention the downtown deliveries we do.. they'd be a dream truck for those tight corners and docks.joseph1135 Thanks this.

Be great for NYC too. I've seen two of the new Argosy tractors so far. One based in Oregon I think and the other was just the other day running in Missouri. The new Argosy tractors are REALLY nice, I'm really impressed with them.JRut Thanks this.

they already export argosy to Australia with dd15 and cummins. even actros comes with dd15 now. so not much modification needs to be done to them.

I was reading about them, they are not "designed" for the new EPA standards, I wonder what it would take to get them up to spec for that. I know some of the "cowboys" won't be thrilled with their return, but they would be great for the above said applications.

Sorry to bump a three week old thread but how does one go about ordering one and having it put together? Just go to the local Freightliner dealership?
-
It couldn't hurt to ask... They may send you to one of these companies that does gliders to have a different engine put in.ROBSREDFORD Thanks this.

It might be more of a custom job. None of the dealers I know that are doing gliders are going to do a Argosy. They have things set up for the trucks they are doing and a custom job is not in their game plan. It would be either done yourself or a shop you can con into doing it. The dealer could order the glider, but then you would be on your own. I checked with the dealer that did my glider, Harrison Freightliner in Iowa, they are one of the largest finished glider producers in the U.S. and they won't do an Argosy. I am sure someone could be found to do one, but you are going to really pay a premium for the job.

I talked to 2 freightliner dealers in Washington state they can get Argosy no problem.

I think it was a dealer in CT who advertised Argosy glider for sale.
