Thank You OPUS 7! So far, so good! although I did bring 8 packs(left out of the last carton I bought)....this has been ALOT easier than I expected. The e-juice has lasted for a good 8 hours. The battery, for the juice lasts almost a full 11 hours! I'm not waking up coughing and hacking. When I'm done eating, I've gotten to a point where I take one puff of the e-juice and I'm good to go. Also, when I wake up I'm not craving a cigarette....much less a drag off the e-juice. This is gonna be day 5.....so my speculation is by next week most of that tar(from 26 years of smoking) will be out of my body. Plus my teeth are looking alittle whiter. I figured if I run into someone out here on the road and they wanna bum a cigarette.....I'll give them a pack or I might just sell those smokes for like a dollar a pack. That's REALLY why I brought them.....don't wanna just trash them. I did get rid of my ashtray's in the truck and have one spot full of ashes that I've cleaned up.

well...so far...NO CIGARETTES! YEAY.....but I'm puffin like crazy on this vapor thing! lol Had an interesting week! Left out Monday, only for my satellite radio to go kaput....had to buy a new one....as I was getting out of the truck, I dropped my brand new phone and broke that! So old school trucking for me. No communication whatsoever! No GPS whatsoever. Good thing I gotta Large Scale atlas and customer directions. Looks like I'm gonna do right over 3000 this week, too. Went from Greensboro to KC, MO....then went across the river to the KS side of KC and picked up for a 1400 mile run to Franklin, MA! Now, once I get unloaded go about 80 miles west from here and pickup for Garysburg. Due Weds. but they said drop it tomorrow....which is fine by me! Just need to be home Sunday! Didn't realize a whole 3 day trip would wipe my butt out! haha

    Wow...
    what a forum.
Buy your own truck. Make as much or as little $$ as you want. Home when you want. Go where you want. Drive less miles for more $$ than you're currently making. You'll worry more about how much fuel you're burning and how much it's gonna cost than you will be about all this 3rd grade drama...
    dang!

no lol you missed most of it. it didn't REALLY start till after you left and the cheerleader took over the thread

where would you be running out of? that must be a new thing but I could see a lot of lowes store loads and international paper in your future running down there

they're branching out into some new areas. things seems to be slowly taking a turn back on track, as much as it can be I guess from what I hear talking to some of the ones still there. maybe lonelyguy can ask around for you and find out what that would entail and post something for you. they're really breaking their balls to get new people in and doing some things to retain the ones leaving they would have never done while sdaniel and I were there. I know of at least one that tried to leave that got bumped up to top pay just to stay.

one of my former students called me this week and told me he had gotten 2 local offers and soon as they got his employment verifications they called offered him dedicated out of charlotte or a dedicated flatbed gig out of Thomasville.

he took the flatbed gig. 200 mile radius, pre-tarped loads, home 2-3 nights a week and weekends and #### good pay. it's a new thing they're doing and he's going to be the first (and only for now) driver on the account. I guess western lost it they were doing that flatbed thing out of there. not sure where the logic or intelligence is in putting someone on a flatbed gig with absolutely no experience pulling one and he said they didn't say anything to him at all about training. they knew he wanted something more local and more hometime and didn't want to lose him. he's a good kid and good driver.....but of course he had a great trainer lol..... he's going on vacation in 2 weeks and then he starts it that next week. wanted to know if I knew anyone doing flatbed that could give him some instruction in squaring away the tarps. they'll be draped over the loads but he still has to bungi and tie down and get them secure.
