This is going to happen here soon seems the police dont care if you ride an ATV on State or County roads even though its against the law.At night they have bright lights that blind oncoming traffic.Someone needs to wake up before a lot of kids and adults get killed on themPumpkin Oval Head Thanks this.
-
They have really been cracking down on them here. And this would be why. It just baffles me, why they need to be on the roads.
lovesthedrive and Pumpkin Oval Head Thank this. -
i know my new polaris sportsmen 500 is street legal.....got a plate, mirror and horn....now if it could only pull my trailer
but no way are my kids gonna drive it on the roadPumpkin Oval Head Thanks this. -
IMO they are letting to many on the roads now that was not intended for the highways at the beginning. One person may ride safe but there will be ten that doesnt.Just look at the race bikes wheelies at 70 mph on a crowded freeway driving 80 to 100 mph.

morons will be morons, no matter what the rules are.
Remember, Evolution In Action -
Hell, I've seen some people in Buffalo use Chinese ATV's in the city..."Can't get a license, don't like the bus, get an AGV (All Ghetto Vehicle)"... I can see these now being sold "buy here pay here"
-
up north here, there are lots of hazards on the road!!! winter is even worse, besides the deer, 4 wheelers and potholes, we now have to watch out for idiots on snowmobiles, that don't stop before crossing the highways, and interstates. came close to a couple of them fools, and it would have probably been my fault.

Irresponsibility is one issue, but the reason for the spread of ATVs among kids is just that,
kids "driving" without a need for a license, training, registration or insurance.
Lack of parenting and most importantly DISCIPLINE, teaches the spoiled morons that they
are Entitled to things, even have Rights to things that are only a Privileage to anyone else.
No teenager NEEDS to drive, nor should they be allowed to unless dire circumstances.
In most cases I would say let the morons get killed, but with vehicles, they take others with
them unwillingly and cause property damage, unecessary travel delays and more.
Let's stop making laws to protect morons, we need less of them. -
I was an ATV instructor for Specialty Vehicle Institute of America back in the 80's . The program was a big con job by the manufacturers , telling CPSC they would have instructors at all ATV dealers . They trained instructors but couldn't find anyone to provide insurance coverage . Then they told instructors no riders would be certified if they took uninsured courses . Some states provided and required ATV training .
Like all sports , ATV riding is safe if there is proper training and supervision . There is little danger if riders are properly dressed , riding a machine appropriate for their weight and size , and ride in proper areas .
Some ATV's have a differential designed to be driven on pavement but most have a solid rear axle and will tip easily when turning on a hard surface .
