This! Posts like this are a welcome breath of fresh air on TTR. There are a lot of ways to make a living in trucking, and all of them, whether company driver, lease-purchase, a leased-to owner-operator, or a full-grown owner-op with his own authority and five trucks are legitimate. Instead of hearing the same old arguments about which way is best, I want to see how you make money in YOUR niche!
TennMan captures that spirit right here, facing adversity, and adapting on the fly to put up a $4,000+ week. This kind of information is invaluable, and I'm looking forward to implementing it after orientation next week.
TennMan may return!!!!

Finally the Truck has come back.............to Laredo.
Well I made it to Laredo in about 20 hours from Jonesborough and now I wait to deliver in the AM.
I'm debating on doing Mexican or Hispanic for Lunch tomorrow.
It was an easy run one I've done hundreds of times.
Well it looks like my week will end with roughly 4300 in revenue and 1800 net give or take a hundred.
See there's good and bad on choice you just need to always find the good even in the bad.
I needed to come to Laredo anyway someone here owes me supper and I aim to collect.ew2108 Thanks this. -
You know as I sit here in Laredo I have to wonder where to next.
Well anyone who has read my posts or knows me already knows the answer.
I'm heading back to Tennessee.
I don't stay away from home more than 5 or 6 days there was once since I joined choice I was away 9 days but I chose too.
I feel a Cali run coming soon but it will be a quick out and back.
I've learned a couple things since being on choice and 1 of the things is no matter what happens or may come if you keep a positive attitude and remember it's a business and not a job you can Succeed.
There's the easy runs and not so easy. There's the weeks everything goes as planned. Then there's weeks like this one where everything went as planned ONCE I adjusted the plan. Lol.
I didn't come to choice for an easy job.
I chose choice for the challenge. I chose choice to have a choice.
I'm all about making as much as I can but I also realize there's more to choice than Just the money for me it's the Home time and the challenge.
I run my Business as just that. It's not a bigger check that I get because I pay myself a salary.
My company gets a settlement I get a paycheck from my company.
I want any body who reads this to know the choice program is 100% what you make it and nothing more or less.drvrtech77, popcorn169, ew2108 and 1 other person Thank this. -
