    Thanks double yellow.

A 1000 watt inverter isn't enough to run a 700 watt microwave. Can I buy say a 2500 watt inverter and then pay their shop to install it for me? By the way, can you run say a toaster oven with a 1000 watt inverter? Do you know?

I prefer mid-roofs but that isn't a deal breaker. I also never drove an automatic although that seems to be the wave of the future. I imagine drivers, especially newbie drivers are not given any choice over the trucks that get assigned to them. Do I assume correct? Moreover I also assume I won't get assigned one of those new trucks in any event until after they deem I have paid my dues.

Also there is a thread below that indicates they put cameras in the trucks of newbie drivers. Is that only in the trucks of newbie drivers just breaking out on their own after completing training. or is that also in the trucks of all drivers just starting with Conway regardless of experience?

    Thanks again in advance!

The inverter ran my 750w microwave just fine -- but I did have everything else off (and the truck running).

The t660s are basically a mid roof. Everything else is a condo. What truck you get depends on what is available when you finish orientation. I got a 2 year old prostar, a classmate got a brand new t680...

As for cameras check with recruiting. I believe all new hires get one for at least 6 months, but it could be just students...

Hey...what kind of microwave do you have and where did you buy it? In the case the one I have won't work and I have to get another one.

    Thanks again!

Hey guys...did orientation last week in Lancaster. There were 4 of us initially, but only 2 of us were assigned trucks last Friday.

Hence, I'm on my maiden trip. Which I had hoped would be back home to pickup my stuff and tools, but instead is a Lancaster to Clackamas, OR hazmat load and in which is also going in the wrong direction. Anyway, to make a long story short, I deliver the load early tomorrow morning on time.

Anyway, I have a few questions for you guys on stuff I've been running into that wasn't covered in orientation. First of all, do I need to send in the fuel receipts from when I get fuel? Second, I didn't have a fuel network book in my blue Conway bag. So I have been purchasing fuel at Pilots and Flying J's. Sort of assuming that if it accepts my card, then it must be in the network. Anyway, how or where can I get a fuel network book? Maybe they can email it to me as a PDF file, which would be even better than a book? Third, do they police you if you go too fast coasting downhill? My policy is not to exceed the speed limit. Fourth, do you guys do 15 minute pretrips and can you combine pretrips with fueling? How about post trips? What's Conway's policy?

Moreover, my speedometer maxes out at 66 mph. However, my GPS says I'm going 64 mph. Is this about par for the course?

    Thanks for your help guys!

Fuel directory is on line on the Drivers Dashboard.
You can downloaded it to your smart phone or laptop if you have one.
You are correct that Pilots are in network, and most all Flying J's. Some Broadway Flying J's are not.
Contact your Fleet Supervisor to get you hilighted to get home to get your stuff, unless your actually have the request in, the Planner is going to plan you on freight, and this week, that's lucky this week.
You do not need to send in fuel receipts, only if it's a cash purchase. All the Pilots and Flying J's are pretty much pump and go.
Road speed is initially set with new tires, as they wear you'll find difference in actual speed.
You should log pretrips, most people log 15 minutes, and all your fueling.
When I drove, I made the most of my time, did the combo in the morning, tried to fuel each day with my pretrip, and that got me shower each day on my card too.
Post trip make sure you DVIR, that'll keep logs off your back.

    10 minutes for pretrip/fuel/HK
    3min for drp/HK
    5min for fuel

Ive been told these are the acceptable minimums to log by Mr handzies when I bought my Idaho hazmat permit.

Are you going thru Idaho? You will need to stop at a scale and buy one. Its like 5 O
    Or 10 bucks.

Oregon you have to have faxed to you as it has to be done online.

Sounds like you're already to freight but whatever... Just so you know if you didn't.

All the j's work with your card except some in Quebec east of Montreal.

But if you go inside and set it up with the cashier it works at most of em.

Canada fuel options aren't in the printed fuel book.....makes since right.....
Just top off before you go across. Most major crossings have a j within 50 miles.

Appreciate the quick response. How do I access the Drivers Dashboard. Is it at https://www.con-way.com/en/truckload/login? If it's there, how do I log in? By the way, I have both laptops and a smart phone.

I'm going to contact my Fleet Manager tomorrow about going home to get my stuff. Appreciate the info!

Oh, before I get in trouble. Does Conway police how fast you can coast downhill? Is there a speed limit you can't surpass? Some companies are very strict on downhill coasting speed. My normal routine is not to exceed the speed limit.
