If there weren't truck drivers driving OTR and living out of their trucks as they now do, the economy would come to a grinding halt. Let us all be thankful for what these OTR truck drivers do.

God bless every truck driver and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

There is a lot unsaid by the OP. How good was communication between the company and them. Were they always on time with deliveries, barring breakdowns. Did they do thier part in reporting faulty equipment before or after using it. Drop and hook your going to see alot of this crap.
If they have the opinion that driving is just get behind the wheel and move the stick, probably should find a new job. Its not all see the country and paid to do it. You have to be able to think for yourself, be a problem solver.
Im not on here saying USX is a great company by any means. The other side of the coin is they have freight to haul and customers to take care of. Its not like they have a hand full of drivers to watch over and if you don't shine and take care of business they are not going to hold your hand. Besides there are a couple hundred waiting in the wings to take your place everyday.
Newbs have to start somewhere. I have driven for a mega and now have a great local job. Looking back I put up with a lot, and I learned a lot from it. Some people are just not cut out to do this job.

    BigBluePeter and mje Thank this.

Quite frequently, applicants want as much "drop and hook" as possible. One can see that it is very easy to get a fully loaded trailer that is UNFIT to haul. It is REALLY something to think about.

Don't assume that just because I'm a driver I live in a truck. Oh by the way nice come back did you steel that from a first grader?

Maybe 20 years ago but most companies are regional now not much need to live in one. Unless you want to nothing wrong with that I was just saying this job doesn't take a lot of smarts.
