I live in New Jersey. Is there such a thing as steady day runs, home each night out of Jersey City? If so what would a normal day be like?

Probably, honestly, depend on where you live in Jersey. I mean you always call and ask them.

PMTG is awful. If you're on the East Coast, stay north. You'll make more money and they are nicer. If you are near Baltimore, run away. My husband just went through hell with them. Started off well when he started but slowly was losing loads and only getting junk. He never had damages. Always had on time deliveries. Had off 1 day a week. A few months back he asked for a Saturday off so that we could celebrate our anniversary. The yard manager told him that he didn't care of it was his anniversary and the next time he asked for a day off he could turn in his truck. Fast forward to a month or so later and his truck, as always, broke down several times. He called them and said something doesn't feel right, it needs to be in a shop. They said to load it and they would deal with it later. In the meantime the suspension goes out and 1 car is damaged in the process. He calls them up saying that he told them that he knew something wasn't right and now this happened. They tried to charge him for the damage to the car. He refused to sign a paper giving them permission to take $500 over their faulty equipment. They wanted him to admit faulty because they didn't heed his warning. They said turn your truck in. He did. So did 9 others last week alone. They are a mess. Run as fast as you can. There are far better companies with better equipment. He's been a trucker for almost a decade and was a trainer. Never been treated so poorly before by a company.

This is one of the best descriptions of PMTG out of all the threads I read over the years.

I believe this company is trash. I've noticed they have ads looking for owner operators also they lost a lot of freight because diversified automotive are pulling alot Mercedes up and down 95. Nyc nj ct ri ma. I think it's a matter of time before they go under

I've been driving for PMTG over 3 years now, and I love the job for the most part. Yes, the trucks are dated compared to other competing haulers but, PMTG gets high marks for on time deliveries and minimal damages direct from the manufacturers. Make no mistake about it, these are BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche we're talking about. You even breathe wrong on one of these cars and it's pricey to fix. So what good is a fleet of new trucks going to do for you if you have drivers damaging cars? I spent my time in a cab over but, I've paid my dues and moved up to a 9-car hauler. People that whine about having to sleep in a cab over with heat/AC obviously never spent time in the Military where HVAC would be a luxury. No one said the job was easy or glamorous, it's what you make of it. You can make some decent money if you stick with it. I'm OTR and gone for 2-weeks at a time. I knew that going in to the job. PMTG has regional drivers as well but, it's mostly for the New England area which I can understand why they have a hard time keeping drivers. Driving just about anywhere in the NE area, is a chore and extremely time consuming. Some of the dealerships are an absolute nightmare to navigate in and get to. PMTG has problems and challenges just like any other trucking company. Once again...It's what YOU make of it. Personally, I like that I'm always busy. 99% of the time I'm not sitting idle waiting on freight. It may not be the best load at the time but, it sure beats sitting idle at a truck stop. My 2-weeks usually fly by and I'm headed home again. There may be so called "better" car hauling companies out there but, I don't see the majority of them hauling high-end cars like we do. Mercedes literally "begged" us to come back after trying to play the cheap route with underbidding carriers, that ended up being a fiasco. You don't save money jumping over a $20 bill just to pick up a quarter. PMTG is going to be around and continue to do well. You don't order 25 new trucks with bankruptcy on the horizon.

You sound like a recruiter, and the fact of the matter that your hauling "high end cars" doesn't mEan you're making more money. All those non-union companies are the cause of the devaluation of this industry, going in with cheap rates and paying pennies on the dollar with no benefits.
