no both are a 70 pin ecm style plugs. just some of the pins maybe in a different location on the chassis plug. now a bxs 70 pin ecm is different than a mbn with what files they will take. a mxs and nxs ecm is what they call a 120 pin ecm. but a different breed.but same plugs. oh and you cant use a mxs ecm on a mbn for obvious reasons.

One item I forgot to mention.
I replaced my wire harness from firewall to motor side. Old one very ragged and a lot of shorts I had fixed.
Talk about sticker shock (thanks PACCAR)
$1,300
Down side I lost:
Engine Oil Temp
Main Trans Oil Temp
the new harness does not have the wire leads at all....
I was told the new Peterbilts don't have those gauges and that's why!!
IS THIS TRUE?? -
In regards to Jake Brake.
My new MXS "JB" works ten times better than my old BXS.
I also like the back pressure from the "turbos" when "JB" engaged. Again BXS did not do that ... -
Russtrucker.... The ECM plugs are different on the engine side between a mbn and mxs....the truck chassis side are the same.....
-
that's right, sorry about that. I was stuck on the chassis side of the plug. my mistake. different engine wire harness different plug. on the engine side of ecm.Last edited: Nov 26, 2014

That's what I was worried about the ecm plug. I found a wrecked 06 379 triaxle with just a c-15 (mxs i think) and the dump bed at auction. I want to do a temporary engine swap on my t600 and have time rebuilding my mbn.
-
if I understand you. you want to put the mxs in your t600. it will work like rob and I said the chassis plugs are the same. just may have to switch a pin or two in the plug or you might not but it will plug up.
-
Mxs will be fine shouldn't require any pin swaps. Pins 11 and 21 are required on SDP swap.
Pcpirate Thanks this. -
there ya go. check the bellhousing to see if where the motor mounts bolt on are the same. on a kw there at an angle where the mounts bolt. I think the pete maybe straight up and down. if so just swap the engine bellhousings.
-
Yep he is right on that the Peterbilt are straight up and down.
I had to do the same thing for mine sent the motor came out of a western star.
