I'd prefer a 386 or T660 to be honest. Just leary of buying a truck with DPF.

88 is a little older than I want to go.

That and Miami isnt exactly known for selling kosher vehicles. Not trying to insult the seller,.. just been my experience each time I went down there to look at various cars and trucks. I refuse to even look at anything in Miami anymore.

The 379 I'm looking at is not even 10 mi from me. No guarantee I buy it.

I learned my lesson years ago on impulse buying. But for the price I'd be a fool not to look at it.

Why your saying with DEF. Both 386 and T660 are available as gliders. Put 6nz cat or 12.7 detroit.

I'm not looking for something that expensive. Least not this go around. Maybe in a year from now. Rather pay cash or 50% on a $50k truck. I want something I can pay off in 12 months or less.
If I could find a 386 glider in my price range, I'd be all over that.

There are other options to deal with a DPF equipped truck. Not allowed to discuss it here. But I'm not above 'modifying' things.

Still shopping around. My current truck running good. No hurry.

in your earlier post you were looking for light large sleeper that was fuel efficient I completely understand wanting a more affordable truck and even the fear of dpf but I am curious as to why a 379 instead of a 07 year 660 or 386 with no dpf or even a t600 so you have a better chance of keeping your fuel economy up without a big sticker truck price

My wife spent the summer out on the road with me. The whole reason I was interested in the KW was for the 86" sleeper. Wife has decided being out on the road is not for her. So,. the need for a large sleeper isnt there anymore.

The 379 I'm going to look at belongs to the father of one of my wife's co-workers. I'm just going to look at it. The specs it has are pretty much dead on with what I am looking for in a truck. Also,.. its priced well below market value so I would be a fool not to look at it. Even if I just end up flipping it. But in reality,.. I love the looks of a long nose 379. I can still make money getting 5.5 - 6 MPG. So if I decide to run the truck, it will be more as a truck I WANT to drive. True, it goes against my business model. A concession I could live with for the right truck.

Again,,.. nothing is set in stone. I'm going to look at the truck tomorrow. I have enough to pay cash for it. Cash = zero payments. I like zero payments. It will need a few things before it would be ready for inspection. Thats what I am going to look at tomorrow to see how much its really going to cost me to get on the road or if its something I could sell for a profit.

I'm learning and taking advice from experienced guys. Doing my homework. So dont worry, I always land on my feet.

I never worry about a man that does his homework sorry to hear your wife decided to stay home but at least it saves you money On buying a bigger truck hope there are only small and easy fixes on the 379 I think most would agree that if they can make it work for the business monalogue a 379 or w900 would be ideal

Welp,.. the 379 is a no go.

    The guy was a kook.

Truck was a 2000, not a 2003 like he said. I dont like the older dash layout.

This truck was showing its age all over. Buttons, gauges and switches were all showing excessive wear. Turn signals and 4 way flashers didnt work. Wires hanging out of the dash, CB bolted to the top of the dash with pipe strap. Some kind of ECM data electronic that looked older then the truck strapped next tot he CB. Interior was,.. showing its age,.. thats putting it nicely. The truck was full of nickel and dime things that needed to be addressed. Looked like a an electrical wiring nightmare.

Didnt have 3.55 gear like he said,.. was a 3.70 with 22.5 wheels,.. not 24.5 like he said.

Truck looked like something I would find in NYC or Miami. I can pass on the info if anyone else is interested. I personally dont want it.
