In that area, yes, I'd say there are at least some drivers in select positions (union perhaps, w/ seniority) are grossing 80k year. I doubt anybody who didn't have the right connections could move up there and begin making that sort of money right off the bat

Pulling a hazmat tanker? I would say yes. I would think you are also paid hourly for loading and unloading.

That is the key phrase here and would take more than mere dollars to lure me up there.
Perhaps no less than a full blown spiritual epiphany might do it.Grouch, jeepnut_nh, stabob and 1 other person Thank this. -
Well, while many of you half-wits are out there giving up family life, holidays even an acceptable standard of living, the smart ones among us are home everyday supporting our families well and taking actual pride in what we do.
In my case I earn 0.62 per mi on a 660mi turn 5 days a week. I never have understood how so many of you (outside of beginners) are still willing to work for slave wages, be abused and treated as 3rd or 4th class citizens (even though more and more of you behave that way), and are no part of your families beyond the paltry wages you may or may not send home. -
(somebody in the back hollers) thatta boy wilbur! lol

Despite your effort to impress us with your lot in life, you should know that bragging only breeds resentment. That's why discussing the size of your paycheck is like talking about the size of your dick. Nobody cares.
It is out of line for you to be questioning the intelligence of others, for it often has little to do with their level of employment.
The simple fact of the matter is that there is a finite number of "good" jobs available and everybody can't have one. It isn't possible for all of us to have your job or drive for UPS or Walmart. The math doesn't work. So count your blessings and thank-you for sharing your good fortune with us half wits.RoadCall, rda2580, Interplanet Janet and 38 others Thank this. -
Someone is sure full of themselves today. Couldn't hang out here with the big boys huh? I gross twice what you do on a bad week. Now go sit down.
-
You couldn't pay me enough to live in Kansas. So you think everyone that dose not make 62 cpm and gets home every night is a moron? You don't sound to smart yourself buddy...sevenmph, 34kw, MUSTANGGT and 1 other person Thank this.

I was just sitting here thinking what would be worse, Kansas or Pennsylvania, and I've reached a stalemate.
If I had my druthers I'd buy that cabin I saw off Hy 111 outside of Spencer TN and not worry about making money anymore.
