Go to Bruce Oakley and don't haul frac sand. Oil field is gonna crash same as in 1980s. They can't afford to drill at 75/barrel.

Truly don't think the current price per barrel is gonna crash the exploration of oil. It may slow it down for new drilling of wells, but I think the wells already on line will continue to be developed. I've read that the cost per barrel of shale production is around $67 on the high end.
Quite sure the price of oil will not stay low for more than a few months. The world suppliers are colluding to pressure Iran and Russia for their bad behavior. (Their political view)
If the OP is hauling someone elses trailer his risk is minimal. Good luck.

Here in TX, and also in PA, they have drilled a lot of holes to keep the leases active, but they haven't done the completion yet. The demand for shale gas is truly in it's infancy. Once they get the planned export terminals built and more LNG ships online many of those holes will be completed. Exporting LNG is a huge wave that's only beginning. Where may I ask are you located perryhandy?

Ya you guys go ahead and jump in there. I hearsd the same thing when it crashed the last time and there were the no believers. You are bullsh....ing your selves into believing it. Read the rig reports. They are already stacking rigs.

Well here is what I'm seeing on hauling rigs. The customer we mainly haul for has us taking newer rebuilt rigs out and then bringing back older units, some are being stacked yes. But others are going to smaller well sites and being used.
Plus alot of the older units are up for sale. They have fully pulled out of N.D. these are gas wells they use.
Not oil units. So that figures into the stacked not being used rig count.

Some places yes the costs out weigh the current price, but they still need to drill certain places to keep their lease rights or lose them.. May cost more right now, but losing the lease rights is even a greater cost.

The original poster was asking about the completion side of the business. There are a lot of holes out there sitting, and waiting for completion. Where he is located is the key whether he can haul sand into well pads or not, and if there is enough business for him.

drilling new holes will slow when prices go down,,fracturing existing wells will go on for those contracts already signed but if prices stay below $60/bbl things frac-ing will slow? Wait and see,,the boom brought many more in to sand hauling , best wait and see, just like when the war broke out in 2001 many bought RGNs and steps because of the big increase of military loads,,in 2009 the bottom fell out of RGN and step freight,,

Had my say and you've been warned. When it goes, everybody goes. They left brand new triples in the OK and Texas oilfields with the drill collar and drill pipe in the ground for year. One Parker Rig sat at Sayer OK for 3 years. It was a one of the most modern and biggest land rigs ever built. Go through Stroud Ok on old 66 and see all the old drawworks and mud pumps sitting there. I hauled a bunch of them in to Gordons and they are still where I left them. How are they going to get money for completion when it crashes?
