Good Afternoon & Happy Thanksgiving every one,
I will be at the Big Orange Orientation on the 8th of December, 2014 for the Dollar General account. I have few questions that I'm hoping to get some feedback from current or former drivers.
1. How is the pay on that account?
2. what are the pros and cons of that account?
3. What should I expect after my orientation? Will I start immediately or do I have to reset (34hrs)??
4. With Dollar General Account do I travel 48 State or am I California Local?
Thanks in advance everyone.

I have a friend who does the dollar general account for Schneider, and his runs have been in California, Nevada and Oregon. According to the people he knows who do the same route, they stay regional within a certain area, although from time to time they do go outside that radius. Keep in mind you are delivering for a DC and that DC has limitations for where their stores are placed.
According to him, that account is good cause of the pay (he averages about 1100 weekly) but it does require you to work and can be physically demanding. Case in point; some stops don't do crap to help with the offload or move slow, so he does alot of work to speed the offload from time to time. He has told me several times that many drivers aren't cut out for it cause of the labor. He enjoys it cause it keeps him in shape, BUT if you have problems physically you may have some problems. .
I asked him about his orientation, he mentioned he got to come home during his first load, but not before the start of his first run. He knew that several people got to come home before it started and some did not, he was given a choice is what he said!?!
I hope this helps, but its all I know with some certainty -
Thanks dbrober70 it was a big help
