I thought you were cutting back on your cow hauling,now you are going to have to step it up. On a side note,have you heard anything else about that grain broker deal from a couple of months ago?

 

He is prepping for when I get some solid livestock experience under my belt , and them its off to AR to run bulls ... lol

 

I hadn't heard anything else about turner since the gooberment agreed to pay the farmers 80 percent of their losses and give the truckers the shaft. It's hard to give up cow hauling although I do really like pulling a hopper. But it's 2 years old and great shape and the accountant said I had to spend some money before the first of the year. Told me to buy a new truck, I like my truck so bought a new wagon instead. Gonna sell my Merritt to my son as a Christmas present for a dollar.

Tangerine if you need a job I got one for you still haven't replaced the driver in our black 379. Gonna hook the Wilson pott to it. Prob not as nice as what your used to but we are getting it fixed up little by little.

 

Checking in from the Petro in Sparks, NV... Our pick up got bumped a day, so we are sitting still over night...

 

Cow hauling is what I really wanted , but its like anything else . I gotta start at the bottom and work my way to a good experience . Sometimes the job you take is the one standing in the way of the one you really want..

Yes... I totally agree with you about running at night... I like the empty roads, closed scales... fuel islands..? not sure about that though... depending on the truck station, they may be obstructed by drivers taking their 30 min break... I like to drive at night.... specially when I can get a good radio signal to my favorite programs or music... My only problem is during the winter.... I limit my night driving then depending on weather condition... specially if there's ice or rain or snow and freezing temps....

BTW, it gets sooooo dark soooooo quickly up here in the northeast.... My clock was showing 16:45 east time and it was all dark already... I TOTALLY HATE WINTER IN THE USA....

 

It is 16:30 central time here in NH and it's already completely dark... like night dark..
The day went fast for me... Did a lot of stuff...
Driver of the bobtail parked next to me came here this morning to check on his truck and we had a nice chat... He is an older gentleman... nice fellow... He tried to move the truck but it was stuck on the ice and snow...
So, I told him that if I felt ambitious, would get my shovel and shovel the snow around his drive axle tires...
Then, I thought since I had offered that, I should go ahead and do it... So, I put my camouflage overall on, my snow boots on, grabbed my shovel and cleaned the area around his tires...
The temp has been warming up and melting the snow... I think next time he tries, he will have no difficulty trying to move his truck...

 

Pig hauling is far from the bottom. As far as what temp and humidity is outside it's harder to keep the pigs at a safe temp than cows. I hadn't hauled much but it's more from not being comfortable doing it and lack of opportunity to do it enough to get comfortable with it
