Hey I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving I know I ate way too much lol. Anyways, I've got my permit test coming up this week and was wondering if anyone could give me any tips. I'm gonna try to take it Monday so I'll have extra time to take it again if I fail. I've already read my manual once and took a few practice tests on here and scored in the 90's. I don't wanna take too many practice test be because I'm afraid they may be way different than the actual tests. Anyways I have been study about 2 hours a day and feel like I understand it pretty good, just looking for any advice guys thanks.

Keep on studying till Monday. Many sites have the cdl tests with different questions,I would suggest taking as many tests from other sites as you can..Type in google search cdl prep tests.
Chewy352 Thanks this. -
This looks like a good site for starters http://www.truckercountry.com/cdl-practice-tests/

yep, I did same thing - passéd 1st time about 2 weeks ago good luck.. study the book for lil things like when is heavy wind the most dangerous..
a. in a curve .
b. coming out of a tunnel
c. out on the open interstate -
I used the practice tests on here and this site http://www.cristcdl.com/otc/
One you can use on a smart phone like waiting for school to start or break time, the other I could not, don't remember what one was what.
Ever chance I got I was doing a test. I had a class B so I only had to do combination , tanker, D&T trailer and only got 1 wrong between all 3 tests.
I am studying for HAZMAT now, finger print done last week for hazmat & twic and state driving test is in a week.
Good luck

I just took the permit test a week or so ago. Let me tell you that studying these little practice tests isnt enough. I took general knowledge, air brakes, and combination. I didn't even open the manual (lol oops) and I struggled even though I was getting 100s on the practice tests. I passed all 3 but I made it alot more stressful than it needed to be.
Long story short thumb through the cdl manual a couple more times before Monday.
Edit: also to add to that I assumed it was just the general knowledge going into the test for the permit but they said to go to school I needed all 3 of the ones I took so that was a bit of a curve ball. That may be common knowledge but I obviously didn't go in prepared. I snuck off during lunch break at work to knock it out real quick. -
Watch out for trick questions! Unfortunately, they are NOT interested in knowing if YOU know the answers -- they are interested in trying to trick you into the wrong answers! They might ask you a question about a part and show a different part in the picture to trick you. Be very careful and read the questions and answers as many times as you need to before deciding. Sometimes there are more than one correct answer, and you have to choose the one that was referenced in the CDL manual your state uses.
Like the trick question above -- the manual might say something like: "The wind is dangerous in a curve and on the interstate but is most dangerous when exiting a tunnel."
The trick is not so much the word most, but the fact that you'll remember that all three were in the manual!
Good luck, take your time, and go with your gut. I always tell everyone not to study the night before... go in with a clear mind.
