I have applied at Maverick, TMC, and Roehl. My ultimate goal is to go into heavy haul, so I have narrowed my choices down to Roehl and TMC. My thinking is starting out in an auto wouldn't be a wise choice, seeing as a lot of the heavy haul companies have standard unsynchronized transmissions.

Skip all of the companies you've listed and find one that is not some training mill. They are out there you just have to knock on some doors and not rely on internet job finding.

Thanks, seems like a lot of the companies here in my area are dryvan or reefer companies, but I'll seek out those companies and go knock on their doors. :biggrin_25519:

I know its tough and there will be guys on here that will say it wont work but at least give it a try. I got my start not very long ago without going through the training company bs and it was well worth it.

Thanks, the toughest part about it is my schedule at truck driving school, it's 8-5 Monday through Friday, leaving only Saturday to go and knock on doors.

Ya I get that. All it takes is one lead and you never know where it can go.

    Good luck to you.

Thanks, my schedule will ease up a little bit in two weeks when I'm set to graduate! But then the "race" will be on to get hired so I can have a smooth transition from the U.S. Army to truck driver.

How long were you in the Army?

Did you drive truck in the service?

You will not have any problem getting a job. A good company will be happy to have you.
