Actually, I did everything trucking job could do. Classic story, started out driving pickups in city delivery, next, single axle straight truck, then tandem dump truck, then T/T dump, then a rift of van, reefer, tanker, flatbed, jobs, went the O/O route, got out of the O/O route, got a union job T/T at a bread outfit, then got out altogether. Oh, I've had a few p/t T/T jobs,( most ended badly) but anything I do now in trucking, would be a repeat of something I've already done, and there's something unsettling about that. All in all, I'm glad I trucked when I did, made a so-so living, had a lot of fun. I'd be totally unhappy with today's regulations, and probably wouldn't last a month now before I would be shut down for violating some stupid HOS rule. Doubles? No thank you. I had to get my endorsement for that when I had my own truck, but insisted to dispatch, I'll never pull more than 1 trailer at a time!
TruckDuo, Skydivedavec and stabob Thank this. -
I want to own my own rig. Company I'm with doesn't have owner ops though.
I want to pull double tankers or one 53' tanker grossing over 100k lbs
Go my whole career without a single inspection from DOT. 3 years running so far, hoping to keep this streak goingTruckDuo Thanks this. -
Been to every lower 48 but Maine. And I always wanted to see a moose.
Driven reefer, van and doubles. Done hazmat and port and rail. Downtown NYC and LA.
I guess I'd like to haul oversize one day - like those windmill blades. Oh and I heard about another FX team hauling sea turtles. That would be cool.truckergalchi, ShortBusKid and TruckDuo Thank this. -

[QUOTE="semi" retired;4347562]Hi miss elvie, I don't know, I'd think those sea turtles would take forever to load.

Hi Semi. And all I could think about was the Nemo movie... Just keep swimming, just keep swimming. Lol."semi" retired and TruckDuo Thank this. -
All thats left for me is haul oversize equiptment like bulldozers, excavators, and stuff like that....I have always wanted to do that not even sure why just the challenge I guess....Only problem is I've hauled maybe a dozen flat loads my entire life and w/o experience it prolly won't happen....Living on the road with some low end bottom feeder outfit to gain the needed flat expeience before going oversize isn't going to happen.
maybe I'll just buy another truck and go back cow hauling..TruckDuo Thanks this. -
DrtyDiesel Thanks this.
