There ya go,an extra day with each other.Did you two bring a lot of stuff? If so you can ask your trainers if it would be alright if you put your stuff in their trk. That will be one less thing to do tomorrow.

Dropped our first load. Went pretty good. Need to work on down shifting in the city, but over all I feel good for my first day.

I've on the road 2 days. Started in Springfield, MO & we are now in Holbrook, AZ. Probably got about 10-15hrs give or take behind the wheel. Looks like both hubby & I are having the same issue with down shifting. I know what I have to do but getting the coordination is whats hard. My poor trainer is probably tired of soundex like a broken record. But he really is patient with me. Stalled a couple times yesterday but all & all it was an OK day.

I'm 50 hours in and I'm just starting started to feel confident in my downshifting. Don't worry you'll both get it soon. What was really killing me is I would panic when it wouldn't pop into gear right away. A quick hard jab on the throttle, and if it doesn't go into gear right away, hold it there and she'll slide in when she's ready if your matching your speed to your gear correctly. I was totally lost until I started doing this calmly, I still have a whole lot of work to do though.

That's my problem. I panic when it doesn't go into gear right away because I don't want to take the off ramp to fast. I trued down shifting last night a lot further away from the off it it seemed to calm me down.

Make sure you don't depress the clutch pedal more than about an inch. You can start to catch the clutch brake and slow down the engine a lot.

If it doesn't slip in, give it a sec and try again. A very slight pause helps get the transmission RPMs get to a little different range. If you slow down the transmission too much, you'll have to select a lower gear.

Listen lady you're going to master your downshifting in due time. When you're stopped like at a customer, study the shifting pattern. Not sure if your trainer is ok with this but my trainer drew the shifting pattern on the window and it helped me a lot.
