Congrats on passing your pre-trip. That's 1/3 out of the way. Hopefully MTC will tighten their "beltbuckle" and get on track.

    pattyj and ryfry Thank this.

Dose he do weekends at school? From what I have seen posted I don't think he does.

What he describes and have seen from the short course people at my school is why I went with the long course and happy I have.
Once we hit the field/yard we get 2 weeks each of drop & hook/brake check/in cab/under hood/pre-trip, all the first 2 weeks plus straight back, all 4 weeks and ally dock, all that and parallel park and last 2 week before test all of it together. We also go out at lest once a week for an hour or more driving.
Maybe I don't notice student to teacher ratio as they see me do something a few times then move on to students that need more help then me. I have towed trailers of all sizes so this is not to hard for me to get. That and my class is down to 2 to 4 of us a day.
Each station has 3 to 4 trucks, about 12 total to do yard work with and think 3 for road.
My class start time is 12:30 runs to 5:30 but now that it is cold and gets dark about 4:30 we are out about 5pm. Not fun when it is raining/sleeting/haling and dark!
So other than the student to teacher number, the number of hours total you have to get completed it in and maybe the number of trucks it is about the same as my school for on road time.

Only thing I can see you have over us is you get to do your state tests in stages so I guess if you fail any one part you just have to do that part over?
Us we have to do the state test all the way thru when you start or you failed the whole test. And yes you have to start ALL over from the beginning again not from where you failed at on your next test date.

    Wishing you luck

    November 30th 2014.

Today the school decides to test me on yard with there own test before I take it for real. Please keep in mind I have only done parallel parking twice!

Straight line backing - Ace it. no Points deducted.
Off Set - I was nervous on this one but barely got it in. No points deducted.
Parallel - I could not get it all the way in my tire was on the line after it was all done. 10 points deducted.
Alley Dock - I was nervous on this one but barely got the alley dock in. No points deducted.

    Total Score 90%

After it was all done I still did not feel comfortable about how I did. I feel that it should not be passing. I'm not the only one that feels this way. Almost all the students do and feel that they need more practice. Two days till my actual yard and road test. I don't know what I will be doing tomorrow. If I don't feel that I'm ready for the road and yard test. I'm going to tell the Director of Education that I'm not ready and need more practice. All the students know that the school wants us out and trying to push out as fast as possible even if we are not ready. If the school says that that is all the practice I'm getting then I already working on Plan B which I don't want to give any details yet.

Don't know what exactly the testing will consist of but here even though we learned parallel parking in school we didn't have to do that when testing out. What it sounds like is you need work all your alley dock. The rest I think won't be any problem.

    Hi Pattyj,

Yes the State of Missouri you have to learn Parallel. It will be at random what you will do but you will do three of them. You don't know what you will be getting until then examiner tells you.

In Missouri everybody has to pass 3 manuvers. Everybody does a straight back and offset. When the examiner enters your info into the computer it tells them which side offset you get as well as your 3rd manuver-parallel sight side, parallel blind side or alley dock.

If you fail the third one you may or may not get the same one on the retest.

ryfry has been really trying hard,we all want him to pass and succeed.Im hoping his school goes the extra mile to do that since its them not giving him the time he has paid for.
