I have been doing some research and Transport Training Group in White Pines, TN has come up(near Knoxville). Its a 14 day course and I'm sure its just the basics but probably what school isn't. Has anyone been to this school and if so what did you think. Also, I'm from SC so how does this work to go up with a SC permit and then get a TN CDL or does that even matter? Thanks

I believe you need a permit in the licensing state.
Chaps Thanks this. -
I don't know how they do it down there but the school I am at in CT is close to the NY state line so some students do come from NY.
They have to get their permit from the state they have their license from (NY) do the school work/practice then do the driving test back in their state (NY) for the class A license.
The school charges a fee above the normal school fee to take the truck/trailer to the NY test site for the student to use that day.
With that said check with the school on how it all works for out of state students and using a truck for the test in another state for the test.

Correct, and you need to prove you actually live at that address. You will need two proofs of domicile, like utility bills, voters registration card...... -
Don't. Over think it. If it's a school and they handle.out of state students they got it covered
Chaps Thanks this. -
OP might be trying to take advantage of that no state income tax.

The school will give u a ltr with their address to use as a temporary residence
